Red River Cereal

Red River Cereal...unfortunately you cannot get in the U.S.A Which is a shame, it makes grits taste like wallpaper paste

Anyone who is traveling to Canada should pick up a box. The following recipe is for Red River Cereal for two.

1 1/2 cups of water
a tablespoon on buckwheat honey or maple syrup
1/2 of Red River Cereal
1/4 of raisans
1/4 of cranberries (dried...not fresh!) You can use 1/2 cup of any dried fruit.
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
a dash of nutmeg
a dash of allspice
a dash of mace
or you can use 1/8 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spices

Combine water, dried fruit, honey and spices, bring to a boil
add the red river cereal reduce heat to a simmer, stir often until the water is gone, about 7 minutes.

Serves two

I like to sprinkle power sugar and chocolate before I serve it.

You can do the same recipe and use oats....use steel cut oats or standard oatmeal....DO NOT USE quick oats.

Sometimes goodbye is your second chance.
