Coffee Maker

Just ordered up one of these, looking forward to .55 cent cups of coffee, with no 1/2 wasted pots. Anyone else already using these "k-cups"? recommendations on the best varieties?

I ordered a bunch of different ones from Starbucks, Green Mountain and Caribou

I figured Id find one that I liked out of the multitudes of offerings....

I got one, and its the devils work. I think I drink more coffee now because I can just pop the pod in and have a cup without brewing more than I need.

I just use one of those single cup coffee makers with Starbucks coffee. I get about thirty 16oz cups of coffee from a pound which costs between $10-$12. That's about $.40 a great cup of coffee and it's not from a pod!

Well, consider me lower class then. I will take my $300+ dollars a month and put it in the stock market.

Whats the difference if I put it there, or piss it out two hours later, at least in the market I have a chance of getting it back, and maybe even making it grow. Next step, quit smoking and put that $200 a month to work for me too!

My girlfriend swears by her Keurig. Fast, easy and efficient. I don't drink coffee, but they have tea pods, hot chocolate pods, etc... Damn fine machine for the lower class.

I'm using a 23 year old Mr Coffee that's well, well seasoned. If it ever dies, I kid you not, I will buy a new $19 coffee maker, and transplant the heater element and valve into my old Mr Coffee.

seseo pod machine and one of those green mountian machines with the little cups. Niether did it for me, but she likes it. I also have a french press, but i cant seem to get it right as the brew from starbucks still trumps my at home experiences.

That made me giggle.

I've had to back off on my coffee strength as I was having stomach issues with my coffee. That, and being able to sleep only 3-4 hours a day.

K cups are barely a step up from instant coffee you may as well save on the maker and just buy Sanka.

Vcooks got it right and I'll bet his cost per cup is less than the cost per Kcup. Plus he's not locked into any specific coffee.

Tony, I'll bet your problem is your water try brewing with filtered water and I'll bet you get better results. It would probably help if that asshole who promised you coffee samples a year ago would get off his ass and send you some good stuff.

Wow, that's a top of line looking Keurig. How much was it? I love these machines. I just pick one up from CostCo for the new house. They stock the Keurig Ultra B66 for $130. It doesn't have the on board storage, but has 3 brew sizes and has user adjustable brewing temp. It also comes with 4 boxes of K-cups. It seems like a nice machine.

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...t28485&topnav=

The Keurig makes a good, not great, cup of Joe. For that Christopher is the man and knows his shit in more ways than one. But TMI brother... On the other hand. 3 minutes start to finish with almost no clean up or waste is hard to argue with.

I get most of my refills from JustOneCup.com. Personally I like a lot of the Green Mountain brews. Extra Bold Sumatran Fair Trade, Dark Magic, French Roast and Breakfast Blend are up on my list. I also have a weakness for Gloria Jeans French Vanilla Supreme. One of the good things about the Keurig, is it that it is easy to try new brands for just a few bucks. I almost always order an extra box or 2 from JustOneCup just to throw the dice. Sometimes it works (Sumatran) sometimes it doesn't (Emeril's POS blend).

Have fun

Water is 98% of the finished product. I have almost $5000 just in water filtration in my shop. Every brewing method gets its own combination of filters. Of Course I'm nuts.
