Been away for a while but have something important and can't post it for some reason, can you help out?
House Bill 1469 to be voted on today could ban certain types of protective motorcycle gear. It's a ban on "body armor" possession that passed a house committee yesterday & will be voted on today (2/28/18). State of Illinois, Kevlar lined motorcycle clothes (Jeans, hoodies, jackets) could be considered "body armor" under the law.
ABATE of Illinois is working to get an amendment to fix this problem, we need your help. - Please take the time to make 2 phone calls today and help us.
Please call the bill sponsor Daniel Burke at (217) 782-1117. Politely let the secretary know that you are a motorcyclist, and you don't want to see protective gear banned in Illinois. Let them know that you would like to see an amendment that excludes motorcycle clothing from this bill.
