I have 12 oclocked my 996... scared the piss out of me.. but I didn't wad it.. and thought I was bad ass...

Couple years later I almost backflipped my gixxer 1k...
that was like 6 years ago.. I still walk funny from that one and I get a lot more love at airports due to it.

BA'AMO - The Duke is geared for Grunt so I can bounce 'er up in 2nd and hold it - 1st is a no brainer but getting it into 3rd for the "distance" wheelie is where I need to pratice - Mind you, the bike rev limits at 9600 and only goes to 140 (downhill with the wind at my back)

Well here's the thing, you really don't wanna be shifting on a wheelie. If you have to continue accelerating to keep the wheel up, you're not at balance point but still in front of it. A "correct" wheelie, for lack of a better term, is at a constant speed and TALL. You can shift if so inclined, just do it without the clutch... "preload" the shifter pushing up on it with your foot and when you're ready to shift just close the throttle a little bit and then get right back on it and you'll be in the next gear, VIOLA!

True - I have to get comfortable with the "flat" part of my foot on the peg - I ride on the balls of my feet 99% of the time soooo......
