Interesting story. At State Farm claims, they work with the auto industry to create techniques to fix parts to factory standards, or better.

Here's a Viper hood that costs $10K to replace, working on a cheaper alternative to fix it to the new equipment standard.

And here's a $100,000 (yes, that is the correct number), Peneferrina wheel well off a Ferrari. Same concept, trying to find a technique to fix them, as the only thing now is to replace.

I was just at the Orlando Marriott World Center Sun-Tues for the Suzuki dealer meetings. Weather was nice, though I was hoping for it to be a bit warmer. They had some test rides, so it was perfect weather for gear. Was a bit bummed they didn't have the 2012 Gsxr1000 for us to test ride.
ya we had a bit of a cool spell.. back to the mid 80s this week. wish i would have known you were here, we could have met up for a beer.

Vcook The clearance from the tire to the top of the wheel well looks to be about 5"

trust me, its not. i put a 2x4 down in the garage so i would know how far to pull up. the nose of the car will not even fit over it. had to use a 1x1 that i taped to the floor

ground clearance is 2.5" to the bottom of the nose, 3.5" to the bottom of the frame.
