jason Havent had time to read yet but there is a big article in the July/August Road Racer X magizine that I picked up today about Tez/MJeff.

obijuan Yeah, it's their first year as a race team, and Tez's first year in AMA. It's a learning experience on both parts. Pascal Picote, who's won the Canadian championship, helped them a bit with setup and such when Tez was injured, but even he couldn't compete with the factory teams on the Team Jordan bikes. Next year, they may be able to get another experienced AMA rider, then things should get interesting. People have to remember that even with Jordan's backing, this is still a privateer team. They don't get the unobtainium parts or have direct access to Yamaha engineers. They basically get to race with whatever is in the Parts Unlimited catalog. (I think that was in one of the quotes...)

Why do you think she has a problem?

Nick, not saying slo has a problem with him, but this is really chapping ALOT of people because Tez isnt finishing up where some people expect him to because of MJ's financial backing. Well Tez has to learn these tracks that he's never been on and a new team is not generally going to take podiums every race no matter how much $$$$ you can throw into it. So MJ is friends with Tez. I dont see why thats even an issue if MJ WANTS to have a race team and have Tez as his rider.

Grasshopper I say "Rock that shit TEZ!" I never met you, but I live rite by you. Do it man, ride hard! Do the best you can and thats all that matters. I'm happy for you and your opportunity with Jordan.

See if you can get a tap on some of those AMA factory parts!

In the pond of club racing, he was a pretty darn big fish before this opportunity came along... and he's not exactly a "minnow" in AMA.

He is one of the nicest guys in CCS. Right there with Kevin Gordon, Mark Bernard and the slow Buell, Ed Key, Bruer, K3, Casper (motovid.com here) and a bunch of the others.

Only had problems with one racer and that damn 507 was just plain mean to me.

As for MJ sponsoring Tez and the people who seem to have problems with it... WHY? Because Tez and MJ are friends? Whoopty doo. Jordon came to Tez about it, not the other way around. As for anyone that says he has no talent for AMA, ask a bunch of other fast CCS guys who race/raced AMA level.

Slowass.....that whole thing with Jordan's sponsorship of this team...
I'll bite on this. Anyone who has a problem with Tez being sponsored by jordan is a hypocrite plain and simple. Pro racing like life is anything but "fair". There are a lot of riders around who have rides that shouldn't and others that don't have rides that should. Everyone has to start some place. NOBODY started off on top and unfortunately because of the way things are the people who "deserve" the best rides don't get them.

How many riders are there in MotoGP who have been there for years who haven't done anything, but keep getting rides because of their nationality? What about that Katija girl.. anyone who says she got that her shot at 250s base purely on talent is dreaming.

If MJ wants to help a friend out then that's up to him and Tez and nobody should be bitching about anything. Tez now has his shot and it's up to him to make the best of it

Do not know if I believe that factory 600's are passing Tez in the striaghts, but if they are I think it is because they are on better bikes and are better racers.

With 130HP, 10-15 mph better exit speed and 10-15mph higher entry speed not to mention they brake later too... plus a 600 has less wind drag (narrower engine)... if Tez only has 160HP, I could see a pro crusing past him on the straights.

jason Ive read that factory superbikes are worth well over $100,000.
I want the truck that tez uses to pull haul his stuff around. That thing is friggen awesome. Ive got a pic of it at road america couple of weeks ago.

OmniGLH While I don't doubt they factory 600s have a lot more HP than is attainable by your average privateer - there is also something to be said for rider talent.

Hit T14 properly at RA on a 600, and you can scoot past a slow beginner on a 1000cc bike down the front straight like he's standing still. The level of pure talent the factory riders have can even put fast club guys like Montez to shame.

obijuan That's for superbike and formula extreme though, for superstock and supersport, the bikes can have very little modification. Can't even change the fuel tank. While Tez was hurt, Pascal Picote raced his superstock R1 in superbike, and ran out of gas because of the smaller stock tank. Then burned the clutch out on the restart because of the stock clutch. The formula extreme 600's are probably pushing 140+HP.

Tez Stuart/Team Jordan Coment

This was posted in Chicagoland Motorcycle news. I found this quite interesting. This is K3 interviewing Tez.

K3: "Tell me about the difference between a factory team and a privateer effort.

TEZ: The factories provide their "A" riders with the development parts that are unobtainable to the privateer teams. Then you have the factory satallite teams. They get some of the good stuff that the factories develope, but not the very latest and best parts. Privateer bikes are extremely well prepared club-racing machines. People think the Jordan Brands team has all the factory good stuff, but in truth, we're a privateer team, just like everybody else. All the trick parts on my Yamahas can be purchased by anyone, straight out of the Parts Unlimited catalog. Anyone can buy a Yamaha R6 or R1, buy the parts we've installed on it, and have a bike identical to mine. A factory racebike can't be had for any amount of money. If you haven't raced at this level you just wouldn't beleive the difference. I'm out there practicing on my 1000cc R1, and the factory riders will come ripping past me down the straights on the 600cc bikes!!!!!

HOLY SHIT, IS HE SERIOUS ABOUT THE 600's flying past him?
