I know some of you guys (and girls) are either for the war in Iraq or agaist it. Either way we should support our troops. Listening to the radio all day I hear about this website about supporting our troops. As most of you know, they are away from family and friends and don't have anything to read, or fun junk food to eat. I think we can help them out with this. When I get paid Friday, I'll be doing this and maybe if it's ok with Tony and Ken, we all can put one together and put from the CLSB on it to show we support them. :cheers
Thanks, I just got my soldiers name today, and I'm pretty excited about this. I actally talked to the lady that started that website last night and I'm hopping someday we can set up something with the CLSB people and her. I think she will be posting the CLSB link on her site, not sure yet. But if anyone has other ideas, maybe we all can do something good.
Just an FYI on sending stuff. My brother recently came back from over there. You want to send things that aren't going to spoil/dry out. If you are sending homemade cookies and things, make sure you triple bag the stuff. It took almost 4 weeks for my brother to get the box of stuff my family sent. This was just at the beginning of the war, so things may have changed. Also at that time they were restricting packages to those from family members only.
I know those guys appreciate it. When he got our package, he had been eating MRE's for almost 3 months and it was another month before he had a REAL meal.
With Christmas around the cornner, I thought I bump this thread up.
