I was going to go but I found out I had to work. I was going for the very reason these guys won't go, to watch the chaos. It's like a scheduled earthquake, just pick a safe spot to watch and enjoy the show. I'm betting some kid tries a burnout and launches a gixxer through Hooter's window before the ride even starts:laughing .:moped
I wanna get there "early" and try to miss the later risers... and you know the extended swingarm with nitrous brigade will show up and try to show off... "I bet I can spin the tire faster and for long than you" and the whole squid thing will be in full effect... dozens of guys in flipflops shorts t-shirts or no shirts and less than 1000 miles on the bike....
throw a party... give away one of the #1 wanted squid bikes on the market... hilarity ensues...
HA...the fuckers FINALLY posted up the route they are taking...
Start at the Schaumburg Hooters at take 90 east to 294.
294 turns in to 94.
Exit at 137 (Buckley Road) and go West
Stop at Austin’s which is right off 137 just after 21 (Milwaukee) The exact address is 481 Peterson Rd, Libertyville Il (Ride time aprox 45 min) (about 30 miles)
After Austin’s, we head back east on 137 until the ride gets to 41. Go south on 41
Exit at Central Ave and go east.
Then turn right at St. Johns road (south)
Take a left on to Sheridan Road
Follow Sheridan all the way to Touhy ave.
At Touhy take a right
End at Chicago Cycle at 3450 West Touhy, Lincolnwood, Il 60712 (Ride time Aprox. 1hr 10min)(about 40 miles)
im still thinkin about going to this and just watch "stupid is what stupid does" kinda stuff...those of you that wanna go, let me know...cause i will record this on my vid recorder...
Who the hell planned that route?!? Tollway? I wonder if I take my own route to Austin's?
I plan to go and hang at the back of the pack. I just want to win the M109, list is about $500 more than the Busa, and sell it to buy stufF I really want.
The whole "must be present to win" thing gets my hopes up though.
<--- prays for rain so the turn out sucks:flip
I got a $1100 difference in price of the 06 M109R listed vs the 06 Hyabusa Limited Ed. The 07 M109R vs. 06 Hyabusa = $1500 difference...
mmmm. 12,000 dollars....
Gaaaaaaah......
I wonder if you have to go to all the stops or if we can just hang back in the rear then pick our own route to the ending spot (chicago cycle). lol
Anyway, did anyone actually register and then clambor through the fine print to find out exactly how to win? If you have to stop at all the stops, depending upon the crowd that shows up I'll decide if I'll go the whole route.. lol.
Just heard on the radio that the ride is cancelled. Some legal issues about kids riding with no insurance and what not. What a bummer, I thought it was going to be interesting. Maybe next time.
I'll have to listen some more... there isn't anything on the site yet about it being canceled...
For those southwest and west burbs... if it is canceled and you still want to get together drop me a PM and I'll see if we can figure something out (few hour ride end at my place for a BBQ?)
I just received your email regarding the Rocket Ride...
The ride is not cancelled.
The reason for me contacting you directly is because I would like to
know where you saw these rumors so we can confirm with everyone that it
is indeed happening.
If you could let me know where you saw that it might be cancelled, I
would really appreciate it.
Thanks so much!
All the best,

Obviously I'm going... I've got Blueeyes34 meeting at my place to jet up there. Haven't planned a meet time yet but we're going to take a meandering route up there (schaumburg).
so I'm guessin we're going to leave my place at 10:15 or 10:30 at the latest...
anyone in the west or southwest burbs want to meet up in aurora (or along rt31) drop me a PM.
I'll be starting early at 8am at SOW, to ride to the "other" Strats meeting place (Panera Bread). And anyone wants to go from Panera back to SOW for the Q101 ride I'll be on a blue SV650S with my blue jacket and blue helmet and blue jeans and blue gloves... but I stand 6'5... So, yes I'm colored like a smurf, but at least I don't look like one!... okay, well maybe a little bit... :rofl
Speaking of "smurf suits", that reminds me of when the UCAN (University of Chicago Aeromedical Network) lands at my hospital we make fun of the flight suits the helicopter transport team wears. They are these one-piece, royal blue flight suits. They TRULY look like smurfs! Can't wait to do emergency flight transport some day!! :1pimp
We have a group of ( POLISH) guys and girl going and if the ride turns to be some massacre we will take off and go for ride alone. Hope to be not as bad as many people are predicting. Early ride to Dekalb for coffee is a strong possibility.
My Oakleys and Pumas are ready to GO !!!!!! :1pimp
