That's funny. I remember telling my buddies at Al Asad. "What is the deal with the mustaches?" Even though I had one myself for about 4 month to irritate my sergeant major. I'm sure we ran into each other at some point. I remember when all of you guys showed up. We were the only Army batallion on Al Asad. We ran all the convoys to and from there. TQ, Trebil, CKV, Rawah, Hit, AQ.

i heard that they call Al Asad 'Camp Cupcake' now on account of them puttin a lil' Burger King shack and coffee shop.. hah..
AND they opened that pool across from the PX..

Dude, they have a Burger King, Green Bean Coffe, Pizza Hut, and a shitload of haji shops. The only pool I know of is the indoor one by the hospital area. The old PX is the new gym. They put up a new PX right newxt to the old one.

Yep... Camp Cupcake :laughing

There's nothing better than going to the pool at night after doing construction work outside in the 130 degree heat. I only got to go three times, but being in the water felt SO dam good.

Burger King - I went there once, and they were out of sodas, out of lettuce, out of cheese, and out of french fries. My actual comment to them was "Why the hell are you even open?"

Being outside the wire, eating MRE's, and sleeping where ever, had it's advantages. No command bullshit to deal with, the comradarie, and knowing you could trust who the hell was walking around your camp. It's sad when you felt safer outside the wire than on a major base. When it was only us Seabees and the Marines in the camps or project sites, I always felt safe.

Thanks for what you do as a Marine :cool

i can do that too.

i assume there would be a chase truck with all the bbq supplies? no need to ask but i got some funds i can help get supplies.

to be honest im really looking to be around people that are like me.

i know it sounds weird but this whole transistion shit is crap and it sux. i miss it more then anything.
