With all the expense of adding a deck I might do it myself. Take a week off work and save myself $10,000-$20,000. I won't have to bust tail trying to do it over a few weekends.

Plus, I can play with the kids and do more casual stuff like ride a bike or GTA4.

I imagine I'm not the only one who is getting tired of air travel and the cost of gas. My backyard is as nice as any vacation home and my neighbors are just as cool as anyone I'd have to put up with in WI or MI.

Anyone else planning a Staycation?

I think this is becoming a trend as the price of everything is increasing and people are hurting for money. Sounds like a logical plan, and it will definitely be rewarding to save all that money and know that you built your deck yourself.

Not out of choice.
+1...the only traveling planned right now is to winona on the 21st and thats not looking too good with the way the weather has been. so much flooding going on lately i wonder if the route is going to be good still

All these vacation spots will be losing money too. Everyone gets screwed with the high gas prices. NOT ftw

last vacation i took was in 2005. but mainly because they have made it a ridiculous hassle to fly anywhere, with all the bullshit security and braindead security people. I refuse to fly
