To any of the tech guys who do their own work on their bikes, I was wondering how tough it is to install a full exhaust system and also what tools are needed to install it and if we need some type of sealant. Instructinos or if you have any websites that would be helpful would be awesome! Gettin my Bike back from Des Plaines after gettin the first tune up

No need to remove the radiator on the R6. Buy the high temp. copper silicone sealant RTV and the copper gaskets that go in the headers. You'll need the extension on the socket and that's about it. If you need help, let me know.

you can easily work around the rad. on the r6? nice!
Yep, at least w/ the Hindle headers you can. I'm sure you can w/ the other brands too. Should have bought a Yamaha :D

If you leave the radiator in, tape come cardboard to the back of it (facing the engine side) to protect the fins while you're working.

Slip fit everything together first before putting it on the bike to make sure it fits, sometimes in shipping/manufacturing the pipe outlets get out of round and need to be persuaded together

If your bike has less than 1,000 miles on it or so, the original exhaust gaskets should be ok to re-use but new ones are cheap so I'd recommend getting them anyway.

Re-tighten the header bolts after 500 miles as the heat will cause things to expand and loosen over time if you don't

Thanxs Everyone for the info!! I just added my exhaust and it looks sweet! louder and seems to respond better than before - after holding both exhausts in my hands my bike must be at least 10 lbs lighter - it looks awesome, the titanium midpipe has this cameleon color from the titanum...

took us 6hrs to install... we kept puttin the parts together incorrectly because the instructions were in japanese but finally everything came together... it came in like 8 parts or so... not sure if all other pipes r like that... ill post some pics soon... maybe even a sound clip

i didnt take off da radiator just unscrew one of the bolts to give us a lil space, i had about 1000 miles on it, bought new gaskets for the exhaust

hmm, but how does it run? Full system on an r6? Shouldn't you need a jet kit?

Glad you enjoy it though. That's the most important part.
jet kit will be next... probably in a few weeks... rode it about 40 miles and it runs nice so much better than the stock exhaust

Definitely! If you install the jet kit yourself and need some pointers, let me know.
