i am looking forward to it but i have the feeling that i will be scared shitless.

how fast is B group speed and time around the track?

i am hoping that this will make me a better rider all around but i hope that my general fear and lack of skill wont hold me back to much. i realy hope that i can pick the brains of some of the CR's and maybe get rid of some of my bad habbits.

The pace will probably be relatively slow at the back especially if it's sold out. Which I'm sure it will be. If you are worried line up at the back on the line and feel your way through the crowd to your spot ;)

Everyone gets nervouse first time out. The first session will be slow anyways from people feeling out the track and first time jitters.

Enjoy as I know you will :cheers

Get with Wink, he will help you out more than you have ever imagined. but all the CRs are really helpful. dont ask me when we are there, i will just call you a pussy and tell you to twist the throttle more.

Go out the first session at the back to get a feel for it and some of the other riders then next session move your way up in the line up and continiue that through out the day. :)

You won't follow bad lines that is what the CR's are there for, and they do a hell of a job. Doesn't matter if you start in the back you'll have the fast guys passing you pretty quickly after the first couple laps, then the CR's will be also all over the place helping everyone with lines. Have fun and be safe. Ride comfortable and it will be the best time you've ever had.

Thanks for the props Alex, but alas, I have to go to a wedding in KC this weekend and will miss the Chili festivities and the track time. HOWEVER, get with Greg Kotlinski, he is an excellent instructor and loves working with the B group guys.

To get the most out of the day, read before you go, and have an open mind. Take notes before you get there, and in the B Group meeting. then work with a CR or a B group rider that you respect and see what you can put together over the course of the day. Focus on LINE first, then form, then brakes and throttle. DO NOT go as fast as you can, as in that manner, you can;t improve on any of the aforementioned things quickly. You must go slow in order to go fast is so true is isn't believable.

In the meantime, read the NESBA riders manual, and peruse through my unfinished http://www.apexjunkie.com It is full of tips on how to get the most out of your first day and how to leverage the CRs.

Good luck! Wish I was gonna be there to help ya.

This is so true Nick and take it from someone who knows... I have been going slow for a long time

Go out there with a clear mind and keep your ears open. Forget about what is behind you, don't worry about potholes, the State Police radar guns, who's pulling out of Crossroad's and all the rest of the stuff that could happen on the streets. Get ready to have a blast. You and Mopar will have a long off season planning budgets for 2009 :neener:

Aside from friendly ribbing about lack of speed from CLSB members on the board, you won't once hear a CR tell you that you are going too slow. If you want to pick up the pace and feel comfortable, they'll push you to do so, but only if you want to try and keep pace.

Once you get comfortable with bikes buzzing you, there is really nothing unsettling about runnign a slower or faster pace. At BHF the B sessions will have lots of freight-trains of slower bikes and a few fast guys circulating, probably on their way to a bump. Just concentrate on the basics and try to have fun.

dont worry so much, you'll be fine. most importantly
ride with others safty in mind (as a beginner at your 1st t-day)
especially mine.lol. i'm #418 ill be there sunday if your there,
ill see ya

Dont worry dude, i'll get some good shots of you and we will show you in real time what you can do to improve, your gonna beat Ian to that bump :D

Don't worry about anything we'll take care of you ,as fast or slow as you want to go, just have fun and be a sponge, soak up everything you can handle ,the talent pool is deep at Nesba.
