I thought I would pass along the pics of a dog looking for a home. She is a Pitbull so please make sure you are allowed to have a Pit in your neighborhood. My cousin saved her from the pound. Sadie just had a litter of puppies and they were going to put her down. Carrie couldn't let them do that so she brought her home. She would love to keep Sadie herself but she already has 3 other large dogs and a husband that wanted no more than 2 dogs at a time - lol! Carrie said that she is as sweet as can be, she does well with other dogs(obviously), and she does well with children. She is free to a good home. Please pass her information along and let me know if anyone is interested.

It's all about breeding and training, as it would b 4 any dog. Dena, I know a few no kill adoption places if she must go soon. Let me know. I'm not looking to take in ANY pets since this is the 1st time I've had freedom in over 15 years since putting Thor down last year

That wasn't a joke. I was agreeing 100% with you. I think they are beautiful dogs, but I don't know if I could relax 100% around one - or ever allow one near kids.

Good luck on finding a good home!
When they're not trained by a moron they are the best dogs you could ever want. My friend Joe had a 150lb male pitbull for years he was the sweetest animal I've ever known, would let their 1 year old daughter ride him around the house like a horse. She crawled on him, pulled his ears, sat on him, and he never so much as growled at her. They really are good dogs despite all the horrible stories you hear and if you look into it, more people have been bitten by golden retrievers than pitbulls.

because there are many more golden retrievers than pitbulls.

She looks just like my puppy, Luna the Pretty Pitbull!

I've already asked Brianne if I could have another bitpull, and she gave me the go ahead to take this one in...I'm just not sure we can afford another mouth to feed. Between the 4 cats and two dogs we have now...

I'm seriously considering this though...

Golden Retrievers are the most likely to bite dog...that study is old now I guess but still.

Unless raised for violence, Pits are among the friendliest, most loyal, docile dogs you'll encounter. My bro's pit/lab mix wouldn't bite a steak. That said, they have a reputation for a reason, so knowing the dog's history is important for sure.

keep in mind that Golden Retrievers are bred through hundreds of years...to use their mouths
They are a retriever...

Ive known many pits that are crazy friendly....just not for me

Pit Bulls have such a bad rap.

They were bred for two things - Loyalty, and Hunting. They are a terrier class, which means they hunt smaller ground based animals (terra = earth). They happen to be pretty powerful pound for pound, and that is where the poor owners have made this great breed have such a bad reputation. In the past, the American Pit Bull Terrier (the full and correct name) was so ubiquitous that they were regularly used for political posters and billboards.

You might even remember this pit bull

Recent studies show that smaller lap dogs are much more likely than a pit bull to bite a human...the difference is they just don't have the power to back that up...otherwise everyone would be banning/scared of chiwawas.

Yeah I'm with ya...just pointing it out. People always seem to mention Retrievers in response to pit conversations because they have such a strong family dog rep, and for good reason. But they're still more likely to bite!! :)

no way, they make awesome footballs when you punt them.
Bingo. (Not that I would know, first hand...:laughing)

Past experiences this dog has should mean absolutely nothing in the present and future of her life. From the moment you see her and decide you want her is when everything else becomes the past and you can determine what kind of future she gets. Pits are wonderful dogs, despite what the media wants you to think. Every dog has teeth, every dog has natural instincts, every dog can act and bite. Doesnt matter what dog bites you, its gonna hurt the same. Train it properly from the first moment and follow through on it every day and you will be rewarded with the best friend you can never replace.

Id love to pick her up but im in the process of rehabing my new house and im not quite ready to move in yet otherwise I would love to give her a good home.
