I went as well. Did one heck of a fast morning warm up ride. A quick 30 miler pace line riding with two others for the last 23 miles. Oh and then it was heck getting to the start line. I parked way too far away. Finally pulled up to the start line just before the start. I squeezed past a few fatter fuckers than me. I wanted to get a good look at open road. And so it begins. Tourist all around me now. The pace slower than I expected at the start. Too many slow ass tourist. Everyone is past the start finish line now and the pace finally begins to pick up. I'm thirsty and now that everyone is on their way I figure its as good a time as any to get something to drink. I then walked over the beer tent to discover that they were out of 312 and only had some sort of Ultra Michelob or some shit. WTF. Oh it gets better. They actually had another keg of 312 but didn't want to tap it because the bitch ho running the beer tent didn't think that she would sell enough in the last 3 hours or so. That was it I put the hammer down and told them to stick their crap beer. Got a slice of pizza and a bottle of water instead and by that time the racers were coming by for lap 2. On and on it went. Found a nice shady spot and took some pics. Yelled "Dopers" at the break away riders when they came by one time. Brought great laughs from the race fans in attendance. Cannondale now pulling hard to bring the break back. Afterwards I made the gruelling walk back to my truck. Great time.

So as you all know since this years race ended I have been in training in an effort to get in top form for next years race. I've been hard at work trying to build my body into the perfect aero shape. I needed to add a little bit around the mid section to serve that purpose. Let me tell you the Hacker Pschorr hasn't tasted better and I've been knocking more than a few back lately in an effort to build the perfect aero belly. Then I'm greeted with this news today.

Yeah it sucks, but hopefully they still make it a top level amateur race. I would think it would still kill with entries, but maybe not as much notoriety.
