yuck! is that a before or an after pic? :p

Considering how sausages are made, perhaps a bit of each? :D

Seriously, that's fresh kielbasa. I have to make this disclaimer because I don't want to be responsible for upchucked breakfast on the monitors or laptops of half the CLSB membership!!:laughing

Docs tactics do work, but it's just water weight loss and temporary. I can drop 20 lbs in 30 days; I've done it before. It's just a big shock to my system and not the greatest thing to do.
Yeah, I should have put a disclaimer on that post. There's no way in hell I would try that now...I would end up passing out and shitting in my bed :laughing

I guess my point is it's always good to have a buddy to compete with on this type of crap. I'll do this with you Cherry. My goal is a muscular 200lbs like I used to be by Thanksgiving. I go more by bodyfat than by weight. Once I start lifting I tend to blow up and gain muscular weight, but my clothes tell the real tale.

You're on. We'll make Ken the judge. I'm mostly looking to lose just body fat too. I plan to pull double workouts at least 3 days a week and go for a long bicycle ride or run on Sat. or Sun.

Pretty much I just cut out the non-diet sodas, cut back of riding my motorcycle and stop sitting in front of the couch watching TV eating ice cream:rolleyes :(

Om so watching TV wasnt the problem it was the ice cream that was killing you. :D :D

I would go nuts wothout my satelite system. Not to mention the site would fall apart completely if I didnt have my high speed internet connection. Get rid of your home phone and just use a cell phone that will save you a few bucks a month. A home phone is just a luxury these days. Theres no reason to have one any more. Although wait till october, we are all getting a 50 dollar credit per line from ameritech. If your really lookin for more money just get a part time bartending job or something. It's better than being miserable.

I have internet at work so I can at elast keep touch. My computer is too old and slow to take much advantage of a higher speed connection.

Don't you need a phone like for DSL??? I can't get a Cable modem because AT&T has there head up their ass over here. I only used my phone line right now for AOL and ot make local calls.

Well DSL is just a different type of phone line. thats a whole different deal. The only thing that has me holding on to my home phone right now is the fact that my company gaveme a fax machine. and pay poer view on satelite. Otherwise it would be gone. That would be like 60 bucks a month saved.

LOL, wiegh in. :laughing :laughing Hell now I got a taste for a beef sandwich. I dont needto gain any horsepower, thats why I ride a Busa :D

I'm going on vacation in Nov. I need to slim down and put some muscle back on before I swim up to the bar in mexico. I will be weighing myself and taking a few digital pictures soon. I will be competeing with you guys in my head, if not directly. Competition always makes workouts and dieting much easier, and more fun.

if you guys want me to be the fat basterd judge...i need to weigh you guys in...so when ever..let me know..you fat boys:jester
Nahhh... the honor system is good enough. Only women lie about their weight. Ken, since we're all different body types you have to decide who "looks" like they lost the most weight.

Doc, the wrestlers at my school used the pool area. THe funny thing was that they sweat and worked their ass off just to lose weight while us swimmers put in over 5 miles (8000 yards) in the pool each day and lost the same weight anyway.

Jim, No specific rules, but I think the goal is to lose at least 10% weight or body fat. That's a pretty realistic number for a lot of us. It could also be 10% of your waist measurements. So if you measuring at ummmm... 40" now, you could shoot for dropping down ot 36". I think 10% is the main goal here.

Maybe for the competition we should do the fastest to lose 10% in any category. The friendly comptition is just to help us keep focused on our goal.

Basically, it's starvation (in a sense) and dehydration.

I've never been able to eat the same since wrestling. Think I messed up my metabolism or something. I can't eat a full meal without feeling sick. I used to wrestle 103, then when I weighed 123lbs I was wrestling 112 every weekend. Throw on a plastic sweat suit and jogging suit over it and start running. If you REALLY want results... run stairs with somebody your weight on your back. I've lost 3 lbs in 30 minutes, and 10lbs in less than a week. Granted you will gain all this weight back in about a day.

Yeah, I kind of get that way too, only with certain foods (i.e. pizza, fried foods, etc.). Wrestling really fucked me up for awhile in terms of body image. Hell, it still has. I've finally gotten away from jumping on the scale everyday, but I still don't like what I see in the mirror. We'll see if what Cherry has proposed to us all has any effect on my weight. I have to wait until the fluid is out of my knee before I really get down and serious.

can i join this competetion but instead can i gain 20 lbs..
I'll donate 20 of my lbs!!!

Seriously, I've started biking again. A co-worker started getting into it about a year and a half ago and has dropped two inches from the waistline and I believe 20 lbs! He even bikes from home in River Forest to work (Merchandise Mart) in good weather.

I try to take a ride to the Bally's at North Ave. beach (about 10 miles each way) at least once a week to work out there and do normal errands (White Hen for milk, simple stuff from Home Depot) on the bike. Although the weight loss is minimal, I have noticed that shorts that were tight on me earlier in the summer are looser now. I just wish I started earlier.

I prefer the slow, steady approach than the lose weight quickly schemes because once the weight is off, we revert to old habits and put it back on.

I went for a 30 mile ride on my BC yesterday. I looked at the odometer and got depressed. It read 1500 miles. That is what I rode from February - July last year. I've ridden hardly 100 miles since. That's going to change.

BTW - to eliminate confucion I'm goign to call a bicycle "BC" and a motorcycle "MC" because using he word "bike" is too confusing.

Today I'm going to do a "brick". That's when you ride the bicycle then get off and immediately start running. Your legs feel like bricks when you try to run after cycling. I figure I'll ride 20 miles then get off, run to the gym (2-1/2 miles), lift weights, then run home.
