Electra Glide standard vs. classic?

What are the differences? The classic list for $17,245 and the standard for $14,995. From what I can tell, the classic has the tailpack, passenger seat, black engine, stereo/CD, and a few more color choices. Is this really $2,500 worth of equipment?

Im asking about the Electra Glides because even though I really like the Road King Custom, I have a handful of things I'll want to add like a passenger backrest, windhshield, passing lamps, maybe even a tourpack. The Road King lists at $17,195 without all that crap? What am I getting for that $$$?

You'll be over the $2500 mark in a heartbeat if you buy the Standard.

Head over to the dealership, pick up a P&A catalog and price out EXACTLY what you would need to purchase.

Hey Kruz, depending on what you gonna add. I would order the Classic and then take the trunk off. then you got the standard but you have the black and chrome motor, and the stereo, as well as a few other gauges in the dash. Now buy the quick release brackets for the back and you can take the trnk on and off quickly and replace it with a back rest. This route gives you a lot more options.

Cause its the bike I liked most. But in retrospect I added the stereo (900) the backrest and quick release mounts (250ish) and now all the chrome is gonna cost me another grand easy, plus I dont have a truck sitting in the garage in case I wanna go on a trip if I want that I'll have to buy it. So if I were to do it all over again I would just buythe classic and be done with it.

Basicly what I was saying before is learn from my mistakes.

Looks like all you get is some passeneger audio upgrades, some new venting for your legs, and an integrated taillight in the trunk.

Not worth it IMO.

One more ? on yours...ask your wife if that chrome bar under her knee and in front of the bags bother her at all. Cheryl was complaining about it on the Road King Standard and it seems to be in the same spot on the Electra Glide.

Dont bother with the Ultra, its just more wiring to deal with for truck removal, and those lower fairing make it hotter to ride in the summer.

The bar shouldnt be a problem, you can move the rear floor boards up by unbolting them and bolting them back inthe higher holes on the frame which will bring her leg up a bit.

No, for luggage and larger backrest to make the wife more comfortable on 200+ mile rides.

My buddie has an ultra classic and likes it a lot..

those lowers come off with like 3 bolts.. if you ride late in the season they are really nice to put on.... most just take them off in the summer

I think you get a integrated CB as well (I've had one for a long time but rarely use it, occasionally on group rides or if one person has a radar detector in the group its kinda nice) or if you are on a reallly long trip its funny to hear the truckers go on about the girls in the cars or traffic or police traps.

That bow is just too funny.

You will love the quick-detach system.

And yeah, those lowers really shouldn't be used if the temp outside is more than 50 degrees.
