Need a shop that will allow me to go in with an AR upper and need them to cut down a forend abou 1/8 of an inch. Don't know the exact measyrment that's why I need to be there with the upper so we can fit as we cut down. Anyone have any info?

Imagine a cylinder that has a diameter of 3" and a length of 8". We would need to bring the length down to 7 3/4 in increments so we can fit it to the actual upper as we cut it down. Also the inside of the cylinder is hollow, we would be woring with something about 5/16" thick
 
I am assuming it is steel right? Let me check if we have a long reach large diameter mill. It only scares me cause with the small diameter mills you might end up with a deflection issue. But if I have an inch or bigger mill then it should be fine.

I am 5 minutes or so from the airport for a distance reference.
