booo....cops found my spot

There's an office building that's been vacant for a while maybe 2 minutes from my house with a nice parking lot in the back away from any major streets that has some very sticky pavement :D

Well, I've been practicing my stunting back there just about every day after I get off of work until the sun goes down. After a few months of wheelies and now just recently stoppies, I've made more than my share of tire marks all over the lot.

Just like any other day, I ride out there to tool around for a while when I pull in and see 2 squad cars speaking with someone outside right by where the majority of the marks are I had made.
Fortunately, I came in the back way and they had their backs turned to me, so I very quietly exited out through a connecting parking lot.

While this story doesn't end with an exciting police chase, I will say it was a sad day for me knowing my spot has now been marked. The problem is I really haven't been able to find any other good spots where I didn't have to worry about the ever-present po-po :rolleyes

Since when did tire marks hurt anybody :mad

Anybody wanna PM or email me with some spots around Naperville that are sportbiker friendly? :twofinger

destruction of property maybe.....Not that I wouldn't do the same but I understand when they want to kick me out:D :laughing :laughing :laughing

i think most spots are burnt up. i'm surprised your spot wasn't already. it must be really good or really small. oh, and btw kruz, wheelies can leave marks. they usually leave one small straight line from where the tire comes down. plus, i'm guessing someone must have been doing some burnouts too!

Wheelies and Stoppies do leave rubber, I'm not sure why you think they don't. Especially when your rear tire isn't sticky enough and you blow it loose trying to get the front tire airborn...

I have a stock exhaust, did it at a totally vacant parking lot, and only stayed there for an hour max when I would go out there. I guess I'd have a problem if a police officer wanted to start writing me tickets for minding my own business. I'm sure some of you get enough pleasure out of your bikes by just keeping it on two wheels, but there aren't a lot of twisties out here to tear up so I'd like to be able to enjoy it another way. Unfortunately with these laws preventing anyone from getting hurt in fear of lawsuits, it's not really possible. :(

See that's the point... it was their funds that paid for the lot.;)

No, I understand that, but tire marks don't make the lot unuseable. I guess if I were that business owner I wouldn't want kids stunting on my lot either. I was just venting a little frustration.

I understand that too. I would love to go out burning up an empty lot, but If the cops came and put my ass in cuffs I understand that too.:thumbsup

ride away slowly and find a new spot. good luck man, most of the decent spots are all burnt up.

A piece of advise for you though, I know 2 bikes is more likely to draw attention but you may want to have someone there with you incase something goes wrong. Especially with those headshake issues you posted in another thread.

if yeah want t stunt...come with me some time..theres open roads and not many cops or traffic at all.

marking up some companys street entrance or parking lot...is bad for business...trust me i know..cause i own 1
also too yes wheelie do leave tire marks...when landing them, i know cause i do..maybe your wheelies arnt that long enough to slow the front wheel down enough but it does when your hauling some ass and the tire stops or slows down more then the current speed.
plus your fucked no matter where you stunt cause its agasint the law period.

so its a ride at your own ass when it comes to stunting.

if you want twistys..follow me on a ride when we go...ill show you some routes..you can come back and play around all you want with till you can drag your knee and elbow at the same time when you get good enough.

Good advice Vcook. Sometimes even if you have a cell phone you're not able to dial it. If you get laid up there when no one's around you may be laying there bleeding till somebody comes into work the next day. When I do this I like to go somwhere, burnt up or not and hit it for a bit and then move on. Don't give anybody time to call.

Some jackweed on a bike did rollign burnouts on my friends parents companies lot. Guess who got called and bitched for it? Me because I own a sportbike. Funny huh?:mad We have a relatively new youth sports center in Janesville and their overflow lot across teh street from it now looks like shit due to all teh burnout marks. They have to repaint the lines now and guess who pays for that? Every taxpayer. Have you ever seen how much it costs to remove rubber marks from parking lots? :rolleyes

Yes, as strange as it seems to many with differing priorities, some people want their home and business neighborhoods to have a pleasing appearance and rubber marks from stunting ain't exactly what they mean.

I'm not really into "stunt'n" but I'm lucky to have the perfect practice area by my house. Its near the local highschool, they use it as their "drivers education practice range". About the size of a football field, smooth pavement and no curbs around the outside(its sunken so each side is a grassy slope). I take the DT50 up there now and then to goof off, (Ever seen a 50cc do rolling burnouts??? LOL):evil

Nobody has ever kicked me out....then again my 50 is dead quiet even at redline. I've also seen a few other people up there learning to ride or teaching a kid to drive.

Legality issues.....

Stunting on a public road is against the law and your open to tickets.

Stunting on private property is against the law (trespassing)

What about my "spot"? Its NOT a public roadway, no posted signs/limits...ect It IS a public area...???? I suppose if I did get busted I could get charged with a "destruction of public property" rap...????

Not that it matters....I'm on a first name basis with the local chief of police and have gotten shitfaced with most of his officers:twofinger :evil :cheers :cheers :cheers
