Fastest lap @ BHF?

1 - 20 of 32 Posts
Hard question. I guess the 250 guys, since they are used to carrying the most corner speed. The MotoGP guys are used to wider open tracks and high horsepower. BHF doesn't lend itself to HP since it is so tight.

Just a guess of course.

Dunno... good question.

Don't the super karts hold the lap record there?
I've got a buddy who claims mid-15s at Blackhawk on a 125 shifter kart. And he's mid pack when he finishes (they tune them to such an extreme that they barely last the 1/2 hour race).

Yes Karts and Cars do go faster around the track than bikes for sure. More rubber on the ground, more corner speed. But thats not the question the Big U-Dog is asking.

I think the Limmies are the nuttiest motorcycle racers in the world. Alot of the guys participate in the Isle of Man TT. There isn't a more technical, dangerous course in the world.

So I am saying the Brits. I work with a fellow who lives outside of Machester England. He said that if you go over there not knowing the course around the Isle of Man and come in last place but still qualify you are considered a fucking hero by all the fans. That is awesome, but a death wish at the same time.

Crazy fuckin Brits....

Go find the craziest looking Limmy you can, hog tie him and give him an IV with Guiness to keep him alive, bring him to Rockford, through him on the bike, he'll do the fastest lap at BHF.

Bahhh. British guys rock man...they are friggin fast!!

Thank goodness I found a way to waste my Friday...

Tough call for sure. I agree with the other thread in that the MotoGP guys might be the most talented - but trying to wrestle a 240hp monster around BHF might really affect their times.

250GP was my first choice for the same reasons Wink had. But local fast guys (even ones like Rev Rice) can't quite hang with the fast SS guys.

AMA/Local guys on ideal equipment would probably get within a second or two of the record regardless. Tough to put a value on local knowledge.

All the SBK guys might be nuts, and used to odd sketchy tracks, but I don't think they'd do much better than the AMA.

So yeah - I'm putting my money on Ken. :evil

I thought the Brits prefer Newcastle? Anyways, you've still got a good point. The lack of runoff in some corners at Blackhawk wouldn't phase a Isle of Mann competitor.

Then again, the Brits aren't an option on the poll either :flip

Yes they are, it says rite up there, Brit Superbike.

I think the AMA Superbike Guys......

They have had to ride all the lame-ass dual sport "ractracks" we have
in the US..... they are used to diversity and um.... "challenging" conditions.

They also *must* have the ability to ignore walls and tires and trees.....

You would never get an FIM rider to turn a lap there.....

In my best Rossi voice I say " Fahhhhk You... I will not ride on that goat-path".

oh, on their current race platforms you mean....you didn't say that..

at any rate, the Brit and Irish street racers would turn the best times, they're crazy enough to do that with all the trees and Armco at Blackhawk.
