Well, I will say this, it's the first time I've been on a track that seemed to have a streetcar line running down the center of it.

Turnout seemed pretty light, which is a shame because the weather held up beautifully: mid-70s to low 80s once it warmed up in the morning. Beginner group really got moving pretty well towards the end of both days, no doubt aided by the light traffic. I can't speak for the other groups since I was down at the west side of the paddock, away from the track, but from there is sounded like they were doing well too.

Those seams really are something else. Still, it seems to be true that the best way to deal with them is to ignore them, for the most part, or at least to cross them aggressively.

I had a few difficulties on Friday night. I broke the end off my clutch lever and had no spare, but was able to get it safe enough to stay in the game both days.

Thanks now to the several CRs who worked with me this weekend and got me back to smooth running after a really shaky start. Also, to Grover for the brats, and to the guys I caught dinner with on Saturday. Catch you next weekend.

Gingerman was a hoot ! ...... Seams to me.

Running in A was almost like having a private track day.... few to play with.

Great weather, great people and smoking good laps.

Sklossman was there as on fire as usual...... you go Marshall.

Thanks to all the NESBA Modwest crew for making it possible.

Had a great time this weekend. I had been on the track before, but this time around I was finally able to not worry about those seams so much.
Continued to slowly improve all weekend. Wink showed me something different to do with my body position, and it really helped out alot. Had fun chasing CR Melissa down also.
Dinner with the small group saturday night was fun, with a stop at Shermans Icecream shop.
I dont remember names, but met a few great people this weekend. You know who you are.

Back from Gingerman, having beer and pizza now. Thanks to all who came out!

It was shorter....

Pix and vids to come. Beer here first.

Was fun. Weather was good, it was a monsoon on the way back though. The bike is now pretty clean :laughing

The gobs of tracktime and low track density was great. Managed to find a few people to play with (Andrew, the guy on the RS250). The track takes awhile to get used due to the track condition. The 'best' line on paper might not work if there's a big hole there.

Did I mention I hate turn 2? I could never quite figure it out.

:cheers 'Twas fun, kept it upright. Tires are pretty much shot, I'll be taking care of that next weekend.

Another one, like a moth to the flame.
It's a chance, but not soon. Pokey still has some life left. That bike isn't leaving my hands in one piece. It doesn't look like those are new anymore?

The guy pitted next to us had one. He had two 'problems'. He ran out of gas one time, next time it died coming out of T2. One of the CRs was talking to him, suggested taking a look at the jets and carb. It might not be tuned for his style of riding. :confused

I think 02 was the last year here in the states. As for tuning and riding style there is not much there. Jetting and such is pretty much set it and forget it.

Riding style hmmm.... keep it spinning 9-11.5K always, and get on the gas ASAP always! Correct gearing is very, very helpfull, 1 tooth either way can be a huge difference.

Gingerman........

Well. Atleast the company was good.
The weather was good.
The track was really starting to feel good toward the end of the day. So much that I decided to give it a great big hug.

I just forgot that I was cornering at speed when I tried to share the love.

Had a great time at dinner. Thanks Rich!

That is all.

Just got back from Gingerman a little while ago. I finally was able to meet a bunch of you...Rich, Wink, Greg, amongst others...it was fun talking with you...glad you all made it home safe.

I was scared shitless the first few sessions on Saturday. New track (two days at Blackhawk was my previous track experience) and the seams in the track freaked me out. But I had a breakthrough weekend. I finally touched my knee down (twice) on my last session today. But above that, I was able to run decent lines (still a bit shitty), wick up my corner entrance speeds, and carry more speed out of the corners.

What made my breakthroughs possible? It was the first time I rode Saturday and Sunday and traffic was light. But Wink's tips on body position and throttle control were what really did it. The session after the tips, I knocked over 2 seconds off my best lap time. I think Rich had similar improvements. There wasn't a lap trigger on the last 2 laps...but I know I was improving my times. Plus, CR Tony took time with me to show me the good lines.

The only bad part of the weekend was my friend Scott (Ducati #101) had a get-off and broke his collar bone. Now I'm debating on whether or not to do Autobahn next weekend. Yes, I truly have the bug.

Thanks for the great weekend!

Yeah that was me. I haven't gotten a chance to figure out what happened. I hope it wasn't my riding style. All I did was turn the throttle :) It was good pitting next to you and Morrand. You were both riding well. It was a good time!!
