No diggity. That guy was batshiat crazy, but he surrounded himself with some ruthless businessmen. They got the job done in a major way. Good on 'em.
He sits pretty now and can be as crazy as the glue with his millions - Fucker! - I lost soooooo much business to CDW back in 2001-'03 - Fuckin 3% margins can kiss my ass

Underdog man you must have worked for CDW during the early years when Krasny was around still. He just became a much richer dude with the sale of all his stock (lucky SOB).

LOS 30 you should have been pushing $150K+ suprised you left. I heard back in the day it was crazy competitive and uber tough to work at CDW.

CDW Sales mantra hurts my head

I have brounght my Sr. Sales Exec with me to three different companies over the years, and the relationship that I have with him ws personal before it was business... and man, I've seen this guy get SOOO consumed by the sales monsters and brain-washers at CDub that it just hurts to talk to him.... As a sales / piviot point / follow-up person, he is the best... literally.... the guy is Loooooaaded. So if a fiscally positive career is what you are looking for and you can make it out of their shark-tank alive... it's great...

.... from what I know of this place though... too many upper-level managers there have been watching entirely too much Wall St. and Boiler Room.

My :2cents:

But I guess I feed the beast... they have won our primary vendor slot two years running and we do around 500K a quarter of our IT and Sec budgets with them.

every phone sales biz has goals but taking care of people is the biggest priority..............number of calls is only really important in the beginning as the more people you talk to the better off you are.
I seldom talk about promotions I am to busy closing sales. :twofinger
You should check your info better........
I'm just stating what I've heard from close to dozen people I personally know that worked for CDW. Every single one of them sounded pretty close to Bug's Quote below.

If it is like days of yor, you start at entry level with a headset on and have to be at your desk and logged in by 8:30 am and taking x amount of inbound calls and making x amount of outbound calls - You have your 15 min break and then back to it - 1 hour for lunch and then back to it - 15 min break and then till the end of the day - If you are on a call for more than 10 mins, it is recorded and reviewed - Do this for at LEAST 12-18 months before you get moved up to bigger ticket items to sell

It is a sweat shop but you learn A LOT and it makes for a good resume
How long have you been at CDW Witman? Weren't you working at Chicago Cycle and then moved to 4&6 last year? If you're the same guy I'm going to take your "expert oppinion" with a grain of salt. :rolleyes

I very good friend of mine spent 15 years at CDW and started by doing what I lined out - Someone mentioned making $140K after 4 years??? I guess we have variances of what one should be at after 4 years of hitting numbers

There is a lot of hot ass that works there though - I loved visiting my buddies office :1pimp

And rumor had it that many of the Bid Desk girls were the easiest! They were easily impressed by money being thrown around and wanted to feel important so they tried very hard to "earn" it. Obviously many of them earned nothing more than a well deserved reputation! :lmao:

Years back when I was in purchasing at a company in Skokie named Elek-Tek CDW and Hartford Computer Group were our biggest margin rapers.

Now only CDW is in business, and they even sponsor an open wheel racecar, so they must be doing something right.

Ha I wish they looked like your avatar wicked! Usually we are emailing them to hurry up and get our bids back to us so we can send quotes to customers.

Whitman's not full of crap CDW is what you make it. If you want to be a boiler room dude you can be that at CDW, but that's not me. I think I would shoot myself, plus I wouldn't be able to come onto CLSB as much as I am during work hours.

I wasn't trying to be a jerk FullThrottleZX. Just sharing experiences I've heard over the years. I've never met a bid desk girl but again, just going off of others experiences. Some having more booze than others but good times with easy girls none the less!
Let's face it though, if a girl was as hot as my avatar - she wouldn't have to work! :1pimp

Good luck all future Cdubs!
