I am a senior Systems Administrator with ENH, out of Skokie, IL

In our team we have a current opening for Systems Administrator II position.

in short - almost no end-user support - less than 5% of duties
working on deploying servers, configuring Windows OS, IIS, Exchange, other back end work. Super cool group of people - lots of fun, very dynamic and extremely fast paced environment.
Every 7 weeks - 1 week on-call 24x7 but not to bad
we are cutting edge network - Geo clusters, SAN, replication, upcoming projects - Exchange 2007 upgrade and other fun stuff.

This position is full time consulting with full benefits - as good as ENH permanent - even managers are outsourced and the contract just got extended till 2012.

Current Need
Special Knowledge and Skills Required.
Server Administration - Windows Operating System. Install/Configure/Repair Server hardware. Must be able to communicate to peers, subordinates, and upper management in an effective and courteous manner. Strong AD skills. Candidate must be able to troubleshoot WAN connectivity and performance issues such as printing issues, disconnection etc.
In-depth experience with Windows Server (2000, 2003), solution design and implementation is a critical must. Active Directory and Network fundamentals, protocols (such as TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS), Group Policy and Profile Management. MCSE 2003 certification and higher is a big plus. In-depth experience with Exchange solution design and implementation is a critical must. Must have some experience with High Availability Solutions (Windows Clustering) Replication technology. Proven experience in documentation of procedures. Excellent analytical skills and experience with to resolving multi-dimensional system problems spanning network, hardware and software layers.
Job Summary:
Responsible for identifying, specifying, designing, testing, and implementing new Microsoft Server computer technologies, including PC hardware, software, operating system (OS), and related peripherals.

Determines when server, software, and OS upgrades are required and ensures that all upgrades are completed as scheduled, and that appropriate documentation exists prior to implementation.

Monitors Microsoft systems to facilitate proper performance and performs diagnostics as needed.

Develop, implement and document configuration standards, policies, and procedures for operating, managing, and ensuring the security of Microsoft Servers ADS environment.

Recommends appropriate actions on proposed ADS projects regarding cost-effectiveness of proposed systems and preferred approaches; offers technical solutions to ensure success of projects, the security of the IT environment, and the efficient use of IT and human resources.

Maintains effective relationship with appropriate vendors. Acts as principle coordinator among various vendors to resolve related problems. This may involve the design, construction, and execution of complex system tests to identify causes of system degradation and to affix responsibility to a specific vendor or vendors.

Provides general assistance and advice to various IT users and management personnel regarding such matters as new system design.
Position Description
Defines, designs, and implements network communications and solutions. Proposes and implements system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. Manages load configuration of central data communication processor and makes recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks. Coordinates terminal orders and cable installation, network system planning, installing, monitoring, testing, and servicing. Approves action requests and specifies purchase requirement. Negotiates and places orders with common carriers. Trains other employees on system.
Minimum Requirements
4+ years experience in network systems administration
Education
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience

What do you do for ENH?
I'm a PSA, trying to get into IS. Not sure if you know Leo from IS, i've been talking to him about a position that opened up in his area that i'm interested in.

I'm actually going to your office on 9-26 for some Epic testing, from 12 to 5pm. I'll be the short, bald, asian dude pretending to know what i'm doing.:laughing:

I just heard that our lead citrix engneer submitted his resignation letter.

i don't have the job description yet, but in short - we need citrix GURU.

We have more than 200 servers farm, CSGs, webinterfaces, about 7000 users, about 3000 thin clients, currently in teh middle of MF XP to PSP4.0 migration.

Highest position in technical food chain - full time ENH employment
 
Hello Samal, thanks for posting this. I'm graduating from UIC with a MIS degree this December. Are you guys looking to fill up the Systems Admin position ASAP or would you consider holding off if the credentials are right until one (read I) would graduate?

Well, that position was ASAP and offer had been extended but not accepted yet.

new position is opening: Senior Systems Engineer

I accepted the offer! I will be CDW employee starting 1/7/08 :)

My current job asked me if I can help them to find a replacement for me, so there is an opening for senoir lever Wintel system engineer.

requirements:

STRONG! knowledge in AD, DNS, WINS, DHCP, MS clustering, exchange, SAN, VMWARE, large corporate networks, DR technologies.

Experience in technical lead role in large scale deployment projects, certifications (MSCE) strongly prefered, BS degree strongly prefered.

The job is with Evanston Northwestern Healthcare in Skokie - amazing benefits, competitive pay - probably high 80s, lifetime job security, fun and friendly team.
