Easiest way to resize for Avatar?

For some reason, Photoshop 7 (yes it's really old) gives me fits when I want to resize a photo for use as an avatar. It's trial and error to get it compressed enough to fit the 150x150 or 19k rules.

So what's the trick to easy resizing?

when you save it, save it as a .gif and hit the option to "save for website" itll compress it down and voila ...avatar

Photoshop CS...lets you put in the pixel size.

Thanks for taking all the heat grouch. i was wondering why everytime i resized my picture it showed up smaller then it was supposed to be. save for web FTW.
