I don't see you speaking in Old English :twofinger
Nit-picky linguistic point: the Constitution isn't written in Old English. Not even close actually. Old English was spoken between the 5th and 12 centuries. The language of the Constitution is actually considered Modern English.

i have only read the 1st post, but 1 i am not an illegal alien, 2 i pay my taxes and price of good from where ever i purchase them like everyone else.

ALSO i am aware if it wasn't for the illegal aliens working in the USA EVERYTHING i purchase, everywhere i go the cost of services and cost of good would be MUCH greater if they were paid to overweight, hardly wanna work and get paid TONS of money WITH benefits Americans.

we are a victim of our own demise and our government for doing such things, but turn a blind eye when it comes to the check out counter.

its that simple America is fucked up in a lot of its business doings.

from the government level down the small business owners are forced to find "alternative" ways to keep cost expenses down to get an "average" profit line & the monster affect the fact larger corporations 3rd world our internal AMERICAN worked and ran business to also cost there cost to get a profit "be it higher" then it would paying Americans.

we all are fucked! and no one cares till it comes time to check out at the register or send in our payments monthly.

think of all that money BACK into the USA citizens work forces pocket and then think ABOUT the possibility of people being able to pay AND have money to put away for retirement!

I read a part of that thread but I would like to make a comment in defense of Bank of America. Sounds like they provide credit cards for people without SSN - but it doesn't sound to me like they target illegals specifically.

It used to be that you could easily get SSN if you have entered the country on one of the particular visa types and it is still theoretically possible. Like - initially I came here through the student exchange program and I had limited rights to work - only 4 months and with a special INS authorization - my SSN still has that printed over it. But with all the terrorist paranoia and general tightening of nuts and bolts it is becoming harder to legally acquire SSN. It also can take a loooooong time. It is also possible that someone stays here on a guest visa legally, doesn't work but uses his/her savings or lives with parents/children. Example - my friend's mom came over here, she stays with his newborn because they didn't want a babysitter. She's entirely legal, doesn't work and doesn't seek work - simply stays with the family and when her visa will be expiring she will go back to Russia. Yet she can't get SSN, so she can't get a cell phone / credit card / bunch-of-other-shit.

My point is - there is a bunch of people staying here legally that don't have SSN. Seems like Bank of America is targeting them. I see a smart business move, not a support for illegals bullshit.

Stas - makes perfect sense what you are saying about the difficulty of getting the SSN for some folks. I think the point is, that they require SSN for people that have them, and don;t require for people that don;t have them. I for one, HATE givine my SSN or even the last 4 digits to anyone for any reason. I need that for paying taxes, and for Social Security. Other than that, I should never have to give it out. Of course... saying that will get all the privacy rights advocates pissed off.

I am for national ID cards, one number can be tied to everything. Make it public, authenticate it with biometrics for charges, or identification. No more ID theft... and of course, it would work for any legal resident or visitor.

Of course, the illegals would be screwed... but then again, how would they get all of their free benefits then, just say they don't have a card? That'd be a mes, then you'd have legal residents claiming that they don;t have a card so that they can get the same benefits as the illegals... ahhh... there is no solution. Open the borders, benefits for all...

Woo Hoo, were do I sign up to become illegal!

Those numbers seem startling, I can't imagine an illegal allien going in and applying for welfare and then being granted it without being a US citzen.

Doesn't sound right?

Besides how many of you know any illegals who don't work?
Perhaps more than one job?

I don't know any illegals personally but everyone I have talked to who did know illegals, told me they knew of illegals working 2-3 jobs to support their families.
As much as it may bother some you I personally would rather have an illegal contributing (working, paying taxes) to society than someone is prison or on welfare.

Please don't tell me you want to do the jobs they do, out in fields picking fruit only to have to turn around pay 4 times more for it at the grocery store. Everyone seems to want a simple job that pays like 100k per year. News flash different skills, knowledge and experience do not produce the same wages. I'm always fascinated when someone without any education or skills complains that society should give them money or subsidize this or that because they don't make as much as so and so. This is the land of opportunity, work hard, and keep pushing and you will get whatever you want with hard work and determination. You get what you give.

I do believe the wealthy have a social responsibility to foster economic, social, and academic development in their communities and society at large, but I am firmly against handouts.

You want something work for it, everybody has something they can do or give to society.

(Stepping off soapbox and realizing I strayed from the core subject)

I agree, they work their asses off for 5-10 years sending 75% of their paychecks back to their mother-land, only to return to their countries and live like kings and be the hero's of their villages.

True story told by true illegals.

Anyone here can go take their hard earned money and go live like a King there too.

1/2 true. Sick and tired of paying taxes and not be represented in the government and having a say in the taxes and what they were being spent on.

I know you knew that, I just wanted to point it out. ;)
Wait a second.
Isn't that exactly what everybody is angry about now?
Damn!
We should go invade Mexico... Kick all of the Mexicans out and call it... I dunno.. America 2.
I have been to Mexico a # of times, admittedly most of the time to resorts.. If it weren't for all of the people and corrupt govt it would be a really nice place... So all we have to do is kick em out and take over.. Tell em they can all move over to America Classic... That ought to work..

Hell.. Nicer than what we did to the indians... right?

flame on.

Great Idea!
They could tattoo them on us..

and maybe a little RFID chip! It would be so convenient! :) We could use ti to buy groceries... If we get lost we could be tracked by it so we would always be safe... Maybe they could even put in a little medic alert thing on it.. So if we fall and we can't get up... We can signal for help...
They could maybe even tie it in with our nervous system for bad people.. So in the event of them doing something bad... We could internally taser them.. That'd save a lot of lives in police chases and stuff!

Hell we could even log them to see if they are taking drugs or alcohol or smoking.. and provide that information to the insurance companies!

Really.. It is all just the tip of the iceburg.. Think of all of the great things the future holds! It just boggles the mind..

I can think of so many other great uses for national id and rfid (shame it causes cancer in rats tho.. but hey.. there are to many damn people anyway.. ) It really is the future of corralling the masses of the future!

Yeah for Progress! :)

hah.. sorry.. maybe went a bit to far with that.. but hell.. think I only hit about 20% of the "conspiracy" theories....
Remember there are 32 CCTV cameras within 200 yards of Orwells apartment.. So.. Maybe sometimes those paranoid conspiracy freaks are onto something...

I love the Mexican stereotypes, it's like calling all Asians, Chinese. Or All Eastern Your-a-peons Lithuanians.

They are Latinos.

And these Latinos work harder and longer hours than all the whites I know. But then again, all the whites are hiding behind keyboards complaining about the Latinos. :lmao:
Quote from American Dad

Alien: Is that a Chinese baby?
American Dad: Sure is. Japanese to be exact.

in my experience... often they come here for a work season.. say the summer.. and then return home to live like kings for the rest of the year...
Which if you ask me is a damn good idea.. Wish we had that opportunity around here :)

BTW... My Dad does Real Estate.. and he was telling me this about the guys who laid sod for one of the builders.. He got to talking to one of the guys who spoke rather good english..

Deported to where?
We have more people behind bars than anywhere in the world.

Incarcerated Persons
The United States continues to set new incarceration records. The number of incarcerated persons increased between 2005 and 2004, as did the rate (491 per 100,000 people in 2005 vs. 486 per 100,000 people in 2004).

You have a right to be paranoid, people are looking for you.
