Since our last outage my browser is not always remembering the history of the read status of threads correctly. For instance, I just came back to the site after marking all thread read and the threads are back to the same status they had this morning.

Any ideas?

Try clearing out your cookies. I betting one is holding on to the info and not letting it go. Otherwise I would say it has something to do with te database and this server. I cant wait to move again. There are a few other strage things going on. My only other thought is, that it could be with the timeout settings. The system doesnt usually change you view new posts till youve been off for a certain amount of time, I think it's 90 seconds or something like that.

I can tell you that I just tried it and it zero'd the numbers for me. So it may well be the cookie thing.

I've been having this problem since the inception of the site and I thought it was only me back then. I posted about it before and crap, but haven't been able to find a definite solution--I've just gotten used to marking the forums read after I've read all the posts I wanna in each forum. :D

you also might have problems if your browser isn't re-loading cached pages - when you delete your cookies also delete all your temp internet files. Did you override page expiration?

If that doesn't work, try using a different browser to help see if it's a client or a server thing (my guess is it's the client).

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
