Bike night ride

Wow. I have never seen so many bikes get flipped off in a half hours time. Nice to meet you guys, but I think I will stick to the backroads, and track days. Call me old, but were you guys trying to touch the back bumpers of the cars? Were there prizes for the guys who got to the river walk first? It was actually fun waiting in the back watching all of those "creative" lane changes. I think I physically felt may rates going up. I guess everybody wants to be a Star boy.

cripes, that isn't usually how the rides go, i swear. don't use that as an example. My friend Romo(not the the board) was a bit out of hand, I should have let him go instead of trying to keep the group together. My bad. I've said it before, I'm a shitty leader.

Yeah thats not the norm. Try going out on a regular ride that is planned out in advance. That was just a bunch of guys leaving at the last minute.
That was truly insane going down that strech on North Ave. I knew it was bad when I saw somebody pass a car in the right turn only lane. Im definately not used to riding like that.
That kind of shit is definatly not acceptable. I would personally smak them up side the head and tell them to go home if I was there. But from what it sounds like that person was not even a member there. Like I said before, trust me when I say most group rides are not like that around here. I frown on activity like that very seriously. Try a ride where Me, Fred or Ken is leading.

I am working on putting together a list of group leaders that can be trusted to handle the groups the right way. and those leaders will also post what the pace of the ride will be for the duration.

Nominations are being accepted through my PM box only.
Bike night was fun! It was good to see everyone again.

I look forward to meeting the big-bellied big mouth that wanted "to race any bike here on his 916" again. It might be fun to get the "other" Busa running good and show up. He'd need 50 extra ponies just to accelerate his fat ass.:evil

I (not having mad skillz) have been on a few rides, and with riders of various bikes, abilities. I always go my own pace, and what I am comfortable with, and eventually I can catch up or the group will wait for stragglers at lights/stop signs etc. . No one should feel the need to ride past their abilities, and with last night, we all knew the destination, let the others go, and ride with people at your own pace.

Great to meet new people last night.

I don't know what was up with that but most rides are organized and people wait for ya and try not to loose anyone. Maybe the next giant group ride things will hopefully be better. Just don't judge too harshly on a quick joint. They were prolly in a hurry like Tony said.

It was, I second that. I had fun. Thanks for that taggolberry? drink Tom, that was...tasty. :twofinger

Brian, love the new bike. Pretty blue. :) No one will make fun of ya now.

NaperThrill Trio: I had to leave last night guys but it was getting a little boring and I was tired. Plus all the smoke was getting to me. :p
not being there I can't speak about this ride in particular...but over the years I have riden with a wide variety of people. All I can say is their is a differance between having fun and being STUPID!!!!

To me it sounds like the guys on this board were having fun but the idiots who showed up on their own were stupid. If these are any of your friends tell them not to be stupid.....because this gives EVERY MEMBER of this board a bad name.

If we exceed the recommended speed limit it is usaully done on back county roads with NO traffic. Not down North Ave at 9 PM!!!!

Be safe...have fun........and keep the rubber side down!!!!!

BAHAHAHA.. now thats some funny shit.. and i thought this group rode to tame for me :)
I guess i'm glad i stayed and chilled in Naperthrill...

I had a great time hanging out with the new and old faces at Strats. It was really nice to see us all together.

I've been fortunate in not attending any of these apparent squid runs. It seems that compared to last year stuff is getting more and more crazy as far as on the road behavior. I don't care how many of us wipe out at the track, that's what the track was meant for (pushing the limit). As far as the street goes, some of us need to relax a bit. If someone's got to ride stupid to get their jollies, kill yourself on your own time. This crazyness will slowly tear us all apart. It will get to a point where this person will not ride with that person, etc. Actually, it's already at that point. Let's chill out in groups and just enjoy ourselves. Off the soapbox....
Hey tony.. dont use me as a example.. unless i am just in the relaxing mood as some people have found out.

I guess when i lead a ride i am very calm.. but if I am not leading.. hell.. all bets are off.. let me go play :)

damnit.. why does my toe always hurt when i say "play"

When you lead your fine, The rest of the time your a wheelie happy bitch just like me :D :D
(On a more positive note) WOW!!!:shocked :shocked It was great to see/ meet so many people out at Strats! I'm sure the weather definitely played a contributing factor in it though. What a perfect night to meet up and even do a little riding.
Tony: Thanks for the stickers. They will be going on after the next cleaning (it needs it).
Babette: You're welcome. Glad you liked it. Just watch out for the addiction to start.;)
Dave: Let me know when you set a date to meet the pro :rolleyes on his 916. Would love to be there when you hand his tongue back over to him. :laughing
Brian: Sweet looking TT. Love the color and glad we figured out how many cyl. it had ;)
Motobeagle: Once again don't let a few riders taint your perception of the group as a whole. This group is truly a class act as well as responsible.
Oh, and I almost forgot, Fred: Love the jacket, when do the rest of us get ours. :twofinger Peace.

I think he was talking about the ride from Strats to Naperville. Not the little ride we went on after Naperville.
This wasn't an organized "group ride." There was no leader or planned route. On a normal group ride there is a leader, a route, and set rules.

motobeagle, don't get a bad impression on riding with us. Organized group rides are not like that, and you WILL have fun on them.

That being said, let's not start another bitching-contest on how people ride. Yes, passing the car on the right turn lane was a dumb move. Notice, nobody else followed him. It's not a game of "Simon Says." That guy ended up getting ahead of everyone and making a wrong turn, anyways.

Basically, I did NOT witness any riders putting another rider in danger last night, and that is when you should bitch. If someone is putting you or somebody else in danger, then they need to cool it or leave.

I had a great time last night and it was nice seeing you guys out!
