Sad to say and hard to believe that we've had so many booboos already.

Just wanted to keep track of 'em. Post your particulars here so we can keep track and find out at the end of the year who the new President will be succeeding from last year's winner (Lovebothkats)

Same rules as last year. Track booboos don't count. Neither do drops in your garage, etc.

I think I started things off this year by kissing that deer on 1/28. Totalled the FZR and got my replacement gixxer 2 months later. Broken collarbone which kept me away from riding until the end of March. Finally feeling no pain in the shoulder at all almost 4 months later to the day :D

crash

Well mine was April 13? It was a wed after a short ride with a few people. I can't remember exact date, but definitely scared me.

Was riding home in Lombard (east on North Ave) and a Chevy Avalanche decided to make me kiss the pavement. Was basically ok, but hurt my hand, and right knee (again) and most of my right side was bruised for a few days.

Helmet and Akito pants took the brunt of it. Vanson jacket, crappy gloves and diadio? boots basically ok, just scuffs.

Damage total: $3,611.00 with messed up fairings, windscreen, back panels, right turn signal gone, pipe messed up:rolleyes Oh well.

On a side note my insurance company is still after the 18 year old and he did get a ticket for failure to signal properly. (Goodie, goodie). His offer to hug me pissed me off the most. He's lucky my hand hurt or I'd have made him kiss pavement.:mad
I crashed tonight. Bike kicked out from under me doing a wheelie. Fell on my ass.:laughing Just went and picked it up and tried it again.:D:D

BTW does my XL80 count?:laughing

If dollars are votes I'm in the running.:frown
Just a side note:

No I haven't crashed, not yet at least. BUT, something that did occur to me, and may be come to light in this thread. I realized that there was one commonality to a very large amount of the trips where people crashed. Not to jinx anyone here, but.....YZFRabbit has been in the group rides where most of the crashes have taken place. I think Rabbit has some bad carma or something. Anyone else notice this?

No track boo-boo's? So my dragstrip incident doesn't count? That one was pretty cheap though. Couple hundred bucks (just under insurance deductible..damnit!) Screwed up plastic and extrememly ruined ego. Oh, and my rear tire actually looks like it's been scrubbed in from when I forgot to get off the throttle.
My other 2 were low speed resulting in busted shifters each time. You can file all three under newbie stupidity (lack of throttle control, bad choice of bike parking location, 'fun' with gravel).

This winter I 'get' to replace the fairings and shifter. I'm not screwing with that stuff now.

Lupi, you said Rob had bad karma. I just think it's Wisconsin! All my problems have been either in that state (Milwaukee and Union Grove) or REALLY close to it (riding home from BHF). Anybody up for riding to RA? :laughing

Let's hope this thread doesn't get too much longer.
Or that I have to edit this post adding one!

Nope, I said Rabbit not Rob. YZFRabbit = Andy, but that still doesn't say anything good about Rob, being a cheddarhead and all. That in itself should be worth some crash points. LOL

I'm hopping this thread dies, and doesn't get posted on all year!

Well Rabbit didn't have anything to do with mine, but yeah...I have noticed that trend too. Maybe we should just bestow Master Squid status to Andy. He's going for the assist record for crashes.

There may be something to this. As I was cleaning my bike last night after the ride, I noticed that my bike was covered with Beamer farts. Everytime Rabbit was doing a micro-wheelie his poor abused baby was belching a cloud of shit all over me. He probably covered all the other guys' helmet visors and their tires with this stuff and that's why if you ride behind him long enough you crash on a turn :laughing

Lucky, lucky me then. Andy wasn't my bad luck, I didn't even see him that night.:p

I crashed alone, AFTER a ride. Geez...I wasn't even speeding. (but guess it was a good thing I wasn't or it could have been worse :shocked).

I'm am happy to report though that I've been on lots of rides and no one has crashed...one bike did break something but no injuries and no crashes. I feel like good luck....let's hope it lasts.:)

Haha, yeah, I think this has been discussed over in one of the After Ride Reports threads. Andy's gonna get "You're Gonna Crash" or something like that stitched to the back of his leathers. :laughing :D

Ahhh, I feel the love:laughing :laughing I believe the real reason everyone that crashes is on a ride that I am part of is that I am pretty much a part of almost every ride.

But, if anyone wants any tips on how to crash....I am always available to assist you in overcooking your turns, finding the right mix of gravel on the road, goading you into riding over your head, or just plain falling asleep at the bars...no extra charge for such expert advise! Aint I a nice guy?:evil :evil
-Blackhawk Farms
-Turn 3
-Lost the rear tire
-Lowside
-XX is my new chia pet :D

That's the short of it....

PS $700 later the XX is ok. Runs like a champ (as before). I've been riding a bit lately and the 'ole 'Bird is kickin ass...

you were on a track dough boy, doesn't count :laughing SUCK IT UP!!!!:p

the bird is looking good though, hope you get the rest fixed soon.;)
Well most of you don't know me yet...

but I'll throw my plastic into the hat.

One fine Friday evening in either late april or early may (forget which week...) I washed out on gravel while dodging a deer at a speed sufficient to send my bike sliding 75 feet across the asphalt.

Financial and physical impact pretty minimal. Under $500 to fix up the bike (although I'm ignoring 1 pair of scratches that would cost another $350 to fix...probably just try to "touch them up" at some point).

what about toll booths??? I think I qualify :frown

I'm in.

It was the first time I met any of you guys late in March. I made a pretty good impression huh.:p We went to Ody's racing school and went to do some sweeps when we got out of class. Got way too cocky trying to keep up with Vaughnimo, got hot into a turn, and did a little high side into the field. Totalled the old gixxer that wasn't exactly meant for the twisties anyway.

Here's a little pick from the nose dive the bike took
