Oddy,

My brother Bill does HVAC installs. He's been working with Ibbotson Heating&AC for the last 4yrs

I could PM you his cell# if you like?

Even if you don't buy the AC unit from them, he might be able to do the install cheaper... ???
yeah of ya can....give me there #' but let him know ill be calling to HOPFULLY cut me some slack.
because i need EVERYTHING for the a/c stuff to be installed. like the cooling fins. etc... i dunno

One of my friends works for his Dad who owns Hobson HVAC. I'll have him give you a call if you want???
yeah crazy...give him a buzz too.

the cheaper i can get it of course the better the savings is.

thanks guys
Hey Ken, give Peter a call at Econotemp. Their number is 630-963-8080. They can probably save you some money. Tell him that Sam, Kim's husband, referred you. They sold me a unit last year, which I installed myself for less than half of what I'd been quoted.
I know where you can get a good block of ice.:laughing
Basement is nice and cool this time of year...

What did the builder want for the AC unit? Like 4800 ? :laughing
A freind of mine does HVAC and he also does side jobs so he might be able to hook you up. Let me know if you want his cell #.

Sorry...his name is Mike.
Whoo!

This is a good post because I'm also thinking of getting central air into the house. Unlike Ken though, I don't live in a huge mansion so I only need a 1 1/2 ton a/c. Have the furnace (needs cleaned though) and can help with install (running line sets, minor brazing) to lower the cost.

It should be super simple because it's only a 3 bedroom ranch.

Anybody do driveways? You all know how me and gravel get along..

Chris
trust me dude i DONT have a mansion
its more like a hole in the wall

awwwww! don't be so modest:bs :bs :bs :jester :jester :laughing
Hole in the wall...that house in my neighborhood would be $500-600mm. Vacant 1/4 lots go for $150mm. This real estate market is crazy...Greenspan just called it a bubble. That's not a good sign.

:eek:t
I need a bigger garage...2 bikes (plus one more soon) and two trucks. I can't even fit the big truck in the garge. :D

Anyone know what a 2+ detached garage goes for? I have plenty of room in the backyard. I woud need 100 feet of concrete driveway poured too to get back there.
