"This guy's picking his nose, not a fucking care in the world"

Yup, he needs to watch out for dipshits out driving down the wrong side of the road while putting his fellow countrymen in danger by being impatient assholes with little regard to other's property or safety... you know, the other's they're supposedly there to help.

I understand your point, but who makes a video when your on a mission? Seriously? I mean I dunno as I have never been in the service, but it doesn't seem likely to me. And the comment at the end of the video seems to solidify it.

You can not slow down or your a target. I'll take pissing off a couple of locals over stopping in the middle of traffic and becoming a stationary target... You guys seem to be ignoring the fact that these guys lives are on the line anywhere and everywhere they go...

They have to drive like that or some dude is possibly gonna have a chance to throw a grenade at them while stopped or send an RPG through the damn window. I don't feel sorry for a country that hides their terrorists amongst the people by day until they wait for our soldiers to get close and then drops a bomb on them. Soldiers there don't want to do anything but get back home. As for the comment don't forget our soldiers are human beings just like us and them talking through a mission isn't unlikely. I'm sure their frustrated that they have to go on missions such as this videotaped and yes they do videotape them my buddy told me they do as well sometimes. Helps to prove your innocence when you have a situation where you have to kill some insurgents and a couple civilians get killed in the process because the insurgent decided to blow them up with his suicide mission and then blame it on the US.

No reason to pass judgement unless we know the facts.

The locals don't care that their family was shot up, bumped off or ran over to keep a US soldier safe. It sows animosity. They just see the actions and have to take it at face value that there was no concern shown for THEIR safety (the locals). If our mission is to protect them, you do not do that by harming them...PERIOD.

Of course for every video like the one posted in this thread there are others of troops mingling and interacting in a peaceful way with the locals. I just wanted to point that out.

The reason why insurgents are so wide spread and powerful is because people have a need to side with someone. If insurgents are willing to take more time to rally the troops so to speak, then they will win the battle. If the peacemakers take more time to spread word of peaceful existence and get more locals on their sides, that is the only way to win this proverbial war.

That is why videos like the one posted are so controversial.
