I hope it is nothing major as I am not losing power and the actions of the bike are not strange the sound is just very unnerving. so due to lack of funds I will be tearing her down so I hope to see you guys soon and I am looking for a new bike prefer an older 600 or 750 yzf,crb or gixxer. trying to stay under 3kbut I still look forward to living vicariously through your lives so keep the post coming and I will miss riding with you guys dearly
P.s if you have any suggestions of what it could be let me know so I may check it and maybe get in another ride or two this year.
Most bikes have a tick to them anyway. You can try tightening the headers a little. I still think you might have some rotting going on in the manifolds. Or possibly a carb slipped out of the alittle.bnutz24 said:small tick (little louder than normal) and alot of puttering
Sounds kinda like one of the sliders in the carbs isnt opening or something...torn boot? Your bike is really peaking my interest, I have a tendency to like tinkering with old stuff. Interested in hosting a "fix my bike" party at your house sometime?bnutz24 said:funny thig is it only starts at 4k + rpms otherwise it runs fine idle and below 3k so it can't be anything major I think the slip thing may be it but I can't see where and I have looked oh well another good inspection won't hurt.:confused
Yeah Have rabbit look at it he likes playing with shit like that. I'm guessig its nothing to major. I would almost guess that you had a bike fire that blew a hole in your pipe. If that pipe is old and rusty up by the header its very possible. Or it could be something as simple as a loose header bolt that finaly came off.YZFRabbit said:
