Well I was riding the kat and she was behaving nicely when I heard a loud pathoonk (like a huge air bubble in the tank popping) I lost no power she still fires no prob idles fine but when I hit the throttle it sounds like the old antique cars at great america a putt putt sound along with the normal exhaust sound. I hope it is nothing major as I am not losing power and the actions of the bike are not strange the sound is just very unnerving. so due to lack of funds I will be tearing her down so I hope to see you guys soon and I am looking for a new bike prefer an older 600 or 750 yzf,crb or gixxer. trying to stay under 3k :( but I still look forward to living vicariously through your lives so keep the post coming and I will miss riding with you guys dearly

P.s if you have any suggestions of what it could be let me know so I may check it and maybe get in another ride or two this year.

Most bikes have a tick to them anyway. You can try tightening the headers a little. I still think you might have some rotting going on in the manifolds. Or possibly a carb slipped out of the alittle.

funny thig is it only starts at 4k + rpms otherwise it runs fine idle and below 3k so it can't be anything major I think the slip thing may be it but I can't see where and I have looked oh well another good inspection won't hurt.:confused

Sounds kinda like one of the sliders in the carbs isnt opening or something...torn boot? Your bike is really peaking my interest, I have a tendency to like tinkering with old stuff. Interested in hosting a "fix my bike" party at your house sometime?

Yeah Have rabbit look at it he likes playing with shit like that. I'm guessig its nothing to major. I would almost guess that you had a bike fire that blew a hole in your pipe. If that pipe is old and rusty up by the header its very possible. Or it could be something as simple as a loose header bolt that finaly came off.

Rabbit you can come tinker anytime you want I will make it available to you there is alot to be done, but I have found the problem :D I was looking in the wrong place I started the bike and looked from every angle when all of a sudden I saw ...nawww couldn't be yep there it was again blue sparks dancing along the top of my head so I figure bad spark plug wires so next chance I get new plugs and wires will be mine. but rabbit I would like for you to take a look sometime. to be fair I will be storing it at my grandmothers house se chicago probley closer to you. but I want to break down and look everything over this winter also want to change brake lines and clutch and throttle cables this winter. so feel free to come tinker away. as far as a help me fix it party don't have the funds for all the parts I need right now. :D :cheers
