My own personal notes for this ride:

  • don't stay out partying all night before a ride and realize that you forgot to change the oil for an upcoming 1000 mile ride and decide to do it after a night of drinking :cheers
  • wake up after 3 hours of sleep and haul ass to the meeting spot where Sunny Delight, Maks, GroverSV650S, Jeff with a J, Wolfgang, Babette, and Lupi are waiting to blow me grief for showing up 10 min late
  • GroverSV650S blessing the trip by dropping his bike in the gas station
  • thinking that was the only bad thing that could happen on the trip until I had my own little off road adventure following 12RPilot and Jeff with a J as we split off from the rest of the pack
  • Wolfgang's booboo and resulting road rash
  • Lupi's muffler problems
  • hanging out at the bar in Minneapolis and hearing about Maks' evening of action chasing the honeys (and not-so-honeys...musta been the beer goggles)
  • hanging with Nick 600 F3
  • having my own bed at a friend's place instead of being stuck in the hotel room with that gay soiree :p
  • getting rained on Sunday morning wasn't so bad after the weather turned out to be sunny and in the 90s
  • stopping for a break by the river, posing for pics and then going swimming after a minor misstep
  • it was so hot out we saw parts of road expand upwards and became crumbled cement road hazards. Anna rode through one and I thought we were going to see another road booboo

Ernie.. you forgot somethings..

Chatting with the rural IL sportbike riding police officer.

Eating at 'Grandma's Diner' and Ernie went all Grover on us and spilled stuff. By then Anna was so tired we thought she was drunk ;)

Grover forgetting to turn his turn signal off resulting in a permanent seperation of the group :mad Ernie actually thought I knew where to go :bs It did result in a good road find.

Somebody else chime in here..

:thumbsup

Wolfgang - sorry to hear about the crash. See all you folks are perfectly capable of crashing wihtout all us crazies setting the pace. hehe.

I still have a stock turn signal and brake pedal if you need them unless insurance is going to cover this one.

Seems like F4i's like to land on their right side. Glad your okay.

yeah, that was pretty freaky. I was behind a little, caught up to the group and see Scott's bike sliding down the middle of the road but don't see Scott...anywhere . I park my bike and pick his up and take it from the middle of the road to a side road and then I see Scott climbing up a hill and walking towards us.

DOH! I don't think this one is just going to buff out :p

Eek, it's a ride report like a whole week later! :D Anyhow, I dunno if Ernie covered quite everything, but I can't think of anything substantial to mention, so oh well! Oh, 'cept it wasn't a "gay soiree" in my bed, at least! Also, I wasn't the only one chasing girls, now was I? :ponder But anyway, you seriously changed your oil after we got back from the bar, Ernie? You crazy guy. :twofinger

no no. I was referring to a Friday night party after which I was working on the bike. Not the Saturday night bar adventure up in MN

Here is a copy of all of the parts that need to be replaced.
Scot,
So what's the total damage there, and how fast are they going to get parts in and replaced? Also, I just took a quick glance, make sure that they have all of the nuts, bolts and screws included. As well as stickers. They don't always list them, and frankly may not charge you for them. BUT, if they decided later to charge you for them, then they will end up going back to the adjuster. Might save you some time to get them added now. If nothing else, it nets you some change!!!!
Ciao,
Lupi

PS:
You comin to BHF this weekend, or gonna be in a 4th of July drunken stupor? LOL

Wow! Swingarm, subframe, and pretty much all the plastic on the bike...is that thing going to be totaled?

PS...if it is...offer to buy it from the ins. co...I'll give you $250.00 in addition to the valuation they assign to it...you make more $$$$, I get me a track bike!

Well, those itty-bitty little fairings of mine are $200 retail, figure 3 times that for full fairings. Rearsets are a couple hundred bucks (retail). That doesn't count the brake pedal. Or bar end and brake lever (ground down to molten metal).

I could see it getting up that high :(

Now, how long until she rides again? Is Pete getting another frame slider customer?
