ok I was talking to a friend who retired from m/c repair and he said I had a "miss" does this mean that a cylinder is firing off sync??or is it something more??

That means you have a cylinder that is not firing. The reason for that could be one of many things. Typically fuel or ignition related.

When you've got a miss. That means you have one cylinder that isn't firing properly or maybe not at all. You need to do a tune up and check the timing. If that doesn't do it. You may have a bad coil or CDI box.
