That issue of Motorcyclist contains an excellent, in depth analysis of the design and engineering thought and efforts that went into this machine. Honest and interesting insights from Alan Cathcart. Ducati's engineers clearly attempted to address all the shortcomings of the 916 series in the redesign.
Those of you who immediately and totally rejected this machine on the sole basis of styling and were offended by the muffler, well, that's fine. I stand by all my comments on that original thread.
I'm impressed enough to put a deposit down on one of the first batch coming into MCC. My friends can't wait to try it for themselves and judge for themselves AFTER seeing it in person and riding it. Oh yeah, I did a little checking and Termignoni and most of the others will absolutely be offering aftermarket exhaust systems for this machine, as expected. End of problem.
