Need New Tires Advice.

Well after 7-8k miles and 5 track days, the good ole Dunlop 207's are dead. Rear is shot and bike is down till I get new skinz. Any recommendations. Here is breakdown.

Mild to semi agressive riding daily.
1 track day a month
Mileage longevity is a plus.

Currently:
120/70 ZR17 Front Dunlop 207
180/55 ZR17 Rear Dunlop 207

I know several people here don't like the Dunlops, but they are the only tires I have ever had on my bikes. All advice welcomed.

Uh...you do mean you need now tires not skinz right? Else is there something you're not telling us?

Ciao,
Lupi
i REALLY like the metzlers M1..they are sticky bad ass man.

if you want a longer lasting, grippy tire..the bto10s.

but if you want FAST, tire gripping action and confidence when in full tilt. M1
Two votes here for the Michelin man!

Pilot Sport's for the street
H2's for the track!
actually...i havent ridden them..heard some decent things about the H2's they have a REAL high profile...good for lean angle.
also can be used on the streets. (its not race rubber from what i heard...but i dont know to much about them)
I've used both the Pilot Sports and the BT010s. I think the bridgestones grip a little better but you'd get longer tire life out of the Michelins on the street. otherwise both of them are a lot better than the D207s.
If you join STT, one of the benefits is a discount on Michelins. Rear H2 was about $140. These are race tires... would be wasted on the street. But getting back to price... they had Pilot Sports as well.

Other than that, the cheapest we found was an Internet distributor based in Denver (I think it was www.discountmotorcycletire.com, or something similar). If you go that route, John could mount 'em for you at Lake Shore (think they charge like $25 or something).
Ok here is what I have found. I was told the H2's were reviewed and are great tires, track and street. I got the issue in one of the bike mags at home. Next would be either the M1 or the Pilot Sports.

Here is the best pricing I found.

M1's 192.26 for the pair Parts411.com
H2's 287.90 for the pair Tireexpress.com
Pilot Sports 255.9 for the pair Tireexpress.com
Pilot Sport HPX 305.90 for the pair. Tireexpress.com

Am assuming the HPX are race and no good for me.

Anyone know of other sites. Kim you link didn't work.

Figures. I'll look at the receipt when I get home.
You got pretty close, Kim. :D http://www.discountmotorcycletire.com/ This is where I got my tires at, too--seemed like they had the best prices.
i THINK...dano said he will do it no matter where we get the tires if you go to woodfeild motor sports

something like 23 bucks a rim...(if you take the rim in...off the bike) and something like 35 bucks a wheel to take off and on.

(dont quote me on the prices..not real sure)

He's doing mine tomorrow morning and, as far as I remember it's 23 dollars each tire if you bring the wheels in and 45 dollars each tire if you bring the whole bike. Mine's gonna be $90 since I'm bringing my whole bike. I'm pretty sure those numbers are correct.
Thanks, Max! :)
I called Dan and he confirmed the above information. Had him quote the tires as well. So far the M1's lookin good.
OK they are ordered.

M1's front and rear.

Had to break down and get a Mychron Lap timer too.

$438 Shipped and should have by weekend.
yeah champ..just bill it to mikeys credit card
Ok Fine Michael I called Kneedraggers and changed it to the Ultra Lap. I was leaning that way b4 but either will do. I do like the display bettar on the Ultra.
Champ, for your riding style I would recommend these...http://www.kendausa.com/motorcycle/street.cfm?p=04

They should be right up your alley
