Open to all CLSB, newbs welcome.
Ride to the Stray Dog Restaurant in New Buffalo, Mich
Sat, Jun 19th
Pace will be flow of traffic +10. May kick it up a little in some parts, may double back if a road is worth it. Regardless I will slow down and wait for the entire group to catch up before changing directions.
This is for no reason other than a relaxing ride to get good food and meet new people.
All times are approx, depending on traffic, however I will not leave before a stated stands up time. Time will be determined by the great Verizon Wireless
Since part of the trip is toll road, please ensure you have your IPASS set up correctly. If you intend to pay coins for tolls please let me know before we leave and the group will wait for you on the other side of the toll booth. If you intend to cover your plate or ride the center line I don't want to know about it.

North Side Meet: Mobil Gas Station
2380 South River Road
Des Plaines, IL 60018
Meet time: 9:15
Stands up: 9:30 sharp!
Approx 55 min travel time and 44 miles down 294 to...

South Side Meet: Citgo gas station
Torrence Ave south of 80/.94
Lansing, IL 60438
Meet time: 10:30
Stands up: 10:45
Approx 30 min travel time and 20 mile ride on 80/94 to I65 North to...

1st Break: GoLo gas station
4321 East Dunes Highway, Gary, IN
Meet time: 11:15
Stands up: 11:45
approx 45 min Travel time and 33 miles on Route 12 to...

Dest: Stray Dog Bar & Grill
245 North Whittaker Street, New Buffalo, MI 49117
Est Arrival: 12:30 ish

Return trip time depends on when we decide to leave, and route is tentatively the reverse of the way we take out there unless majority people want to just take 80/94 back. Should be back before sunset as some people (myself included) have plans for later that evening.

I ask that if you want to join the ride, please let me know which meet spot you will be joining us at so I can have an idea of how many people to expect.

If I don't have to work I will be at the South Side spot. I will know my work schedule tomorrow.

Unless I'm the only one that would be there. Then i'll take a page out of uncle bug's book and meet you crackers where 80 dumps into 94 by Torrance as you fly by.

As info, Nagra's is now a GoLo station. Painted Red & Brown Scheme. That spot is literally around the corner from my house.
Thanks for the update. Changing first post.

:lmao: totally forgot that I can carry in Indiana now. So while in IL I have to keep the handgun in a locked box on the back of the bike with ammo under the seat, but once we cross that state line, it's lock and load time

Are hooligans allowed on this ride?
It is open to all CLSB. All I ask is that if you stunt, take it to another lane away from the group. And stunting is the one thing I will not stop for if you get pulled over. The intent is that this is going to be a relaxing ride, if someone wants to demon run, then we'll just catch ya at the next stop.

...Bill, can we take route 12 up through indiana dunes and thru michigans harbor country? its really scenic along the lake michigan shoreline...
I think I said this during our phone call, but I was a little pre-occupied with moving at the time. Taking Route 12 after the Gary stop was the intent I had.

On a separate note;
1) Vern suggested we make the south side meet up at the Citgo Gas Station at Torrence Avenue, Lansing, IL‎ which is just south of 80/94. Does anyone have any issues with this? Mainly looking for input from those that will be meeting in the area as I'm not too familiar with the south side.

I don't want to critisize the place since I have not tried all their food; We were there today, I ordered their "Famous Chili" which was less than satisfactory, in my opinion Wendys is better at 1/5th of the price. The chili is really just the liquid portion with 4 peices of meat, cheese and 3 beans... that's all that was it... I added Jalapeneos which added a little flavor, but still not to the point where it should be for 6.00 for a CUP of chili.

The service was prompt, and curtious, there are a LOT of underage girls, so we need to make sure no child predators go with us ^^
