It was nice to get out and meet a few of the members...next time, Wife needs to come along....

I took I55 West to get back home.....took me an hour 40 minutes.....:mad :helmet :helmet :mad :mad

My clutch hand is still sore this am...I had to idle the whole way home, and could not go on the shoulder due to cop car 3 cars behind me...:mad
Oh yeah, totally great NOT meeting anyone at Strats!:jester On the way there I was going down 294 and saw a big cloud of smoke off to the side. I thought that a warehouse was on fire or something down there, but as I got closer there was a traffic backup. I was thinking, ok, gapers block...so I did the lane split. Something was up as the lane splitting was real easy since the traffic wasnt moving at all...when I got there, turns out some semi jumped the median into the southbound lanes, took out about 10 cars, then burst into flames. It was interesting watching the roaring blaze and then the fire dept putting it out when they got there. Only problem was they never opened up the lanes again. I then rode about a 1/2 mile up 294 the wrong way to get to a break in the median to make a uturn and rode back up to Ohare, over to 90, and made my way down to Strats to find you guys about to take off for Oddy's "checking the progress of road construction" ride:jester Nice riding with you guys, all the bumps and gravel kept me on my toes and held my attention so I wouldnt pass out from lack of sleep:twofinger

Forgot to mention....did anyone who takes I55 > Joliet notice the "don't drink & drive" billboard (near Weber?) got taken out by a car, and is half up, half hanging over on it's side?:evil

Ken, nice route. I wish our tax money would go into fixing some of those raods though. Nice seeing everyone.

When driving to work this morning I was wondering why 3 of the 4 southbound lanes looked BBQ'ed. They were still cleaning it up this morning.

Yeah, I know.....plus I still have plates & screws in it (left hand) from a past surgery a few years back....kinda get
arthritis type symptoms with it.....
Nice RC's John and Kevin
:mad

Well at least one other person has incredible taste.
:D
glad you guys had fun.

ERIK...i lane splitted and ALMOST did my normal threw the truck weigh station....till i saw a cop...and went across the grass to avoid him...as i past him in normal traffic he flashed his light at me..(side light) and then turned on the mars lights for a second...meaning...(i saw your ass):laughing

also those roads i have a feeling there NEVER gonna fix right..as we saw some nasty pot hole and patch strips:mad

gotta find new ones...which i have a clue where some more at ;)

ill have to do some searching in a few days
Had a great time as well. Ken, thanks for leading. Sorry Kevin and I had to bug out early. After we left we also noted the delay on I-55 southbound. At the time it was backed up all the way to Rte. 53. A thank you also has to go out to the whole group at Strats. Kevin commented that he will definitely be out for more rides with us as he enjoyed meeting everybody and realized that what I had told him about the group was true. (Snowed for now :laughing )

I may have found some too. I know for sure a small section but I need to search a little more to find something else around there to make the boring ride there worth while. I'll PM you.

55 area is still good....they repaved all the cloverleaves along it!:D I got an idea....hit each one once before moving up to the next one...that should be interesting! Now to figure out how to get rid of the cars on the road.....
Grrrrrrrrr.........

Man I was so mad last night.............. till I saw the same thing Andy saw.........That truck driver had a much worse night then me.

I was runnin late gettin to strats so I decided to take 88 to 294 to North ave............. Uhm were you aware there is no exit for North off 294?............ I got stuck in the same crap you did Andy but I was going North..... shoulder riding mostly I finally made it past the scene had 294 Norht all to myself and realized the ONLY exit is Ohare, shit......... I should pay more attention to what exits are where. so I blast down River road to North ave. Im still forever away from Strats. Get there and the Harley guys siad you just missed em............ Ill refrain from commenting.

Went thru Naperthrill on the way home only to get stared down by the Bicycle cops. I said what did I do this time? He said nothin yet we're just remembering Bikes as they come thru downtown. Can I ask why? his reply......... No I laughed at him and kept going it was dead down there anyway

How much does it cost to get an upgraded rating?

:twofinger
Thanks, Michael. I don't think that was an option for me before, was it? I know I looked for that right away.
