Stick withit Tony. The money you save is another bike payment, especially with the .40 tax increase today. Good thing you don't live in New York, it would cost you $7.00 per pack

Yup that tax is one of the main reasons I quit, besides the obvious health reasons. I didnt want to give the state any more of my money.

Well, did you make it 24 hours?

My wife claims she will stop someday as well, but if it keeps her from Bitch'in, I'll keep buying her packs when she runs out..:laughing

Well it looks like I'll be scheduling another quiting date. I was going through a major case of asshole last night and my wife finnally said she thought aI should go have a cig. I think next time I am going to jump to the larger patch and have some of that gum on hand. I was really moody yesterday.

Nothing against the unsuccessful quitters...
I just can not understand why it is so difficult to quit smoking. If you don't want to smoke anymore...just stop smoking. The smell gets in your clothes, hair, car, etc. Your teeth get nasty yellow and your breath stinks. I won't even go into the health problems and cost of the nasty habit.

Those that can't quit, IMHO really do not want to give up their crutch. Yeh I'm sure there is a little physical withdrawal from the nicotine, but tough it out.

I just think those that can't quit are just not strong enough mentally to get through it.

You can do it!! I smoked a pack a day for 20 years and quit 19 month ago, birth of my daughter. I would recommend slowly working out of your routine, I spent 3 months of slowing down. The hardest part was driving the car, old associations die hard. It sounds like you're mentally prepared; it's just a matter of changing your routines. I would take deep breaths and realize how much my lung capacity diminished over the years. Oh yeah, don't announce it, just ease out of it.

I still burn the occasional *** whilst drinking, which is rare for me anyway.

This may sound dumb but go buy a bag of sunflower seeds to help fulfill the oral fixation. Then, the sunflower seed shells all over your car will piss you off and eventually you'll drop that too.
