i just ran across this on the stuntlife forums. Its an engine cover cage/guard. Looks like it might be a good idea!

yeah there are companies out there who make case guards. mostly for the naked bikes. Would need to be a bit radical to fit under the fairings or do they protrude out of the fairing.

yep sliders work great on the pavement but when you hit muddy dirt, it kinda grabs the slider and "SNAP" course the mud grabs foot pegs, fairing brackets, handle bars, exhausts, all dont fair too well. Now I dont think the stunters putting these bars on their bikes intend to wheelie in the mud.

Many years ago, there were things like that available for racing. Unfortunately, with a good impact, they collapsed. The actual replacement covers still seem to be the best, in my experience.
