highly rated speed shop, assuming you have an import. They used to do car audio back in the day, and got into turbo japenese cars.

My friend who owns a 93.5 TT Supra goes to SP to have all his work done. If i'm not mistaken a guy from IL had his Supra fully modded by SP and had a race against one of the fastest Vipers known to man, which was done in Texas.

cough... turbo mark ...cough... I think that race is legendary, and I don't think it ever actually happened

Dayum... didn't think that was possible. I'll bet the Gixxer cost less though :)

from what I understand (and I don't know specifics or facts) they wanted to do the race for BIG money, but neither could agree on the terms. I think it was Hennessey's viper (but it could have been Calloway) like a 1600hp car.

I think the race was all setup, but for one reason or another it never went down.

One thing to keep in mind about a 9 sec. supra, actually that particular car. I believe that they only get something like 4 races out a engine block and then it cracks.

What does a stock Gixxer 1000 or Busa do it in?

motorcyclist magazine listed a stock busa at 9.80's, I believe a stretched and lowered busa with a mortal taking controls will get the bike to go in the mid 9's. you have to remember that the supra was racing an old school aircooled gsxr-1100. Granted that bike looked like it had a few nickels invested, and it didn't loose by that much, considering the supra went 9.0's.

Ok, and how slow does my pokey 12R go? Just hoping you might know. I know the Busa beats it from a dead stop sinceit is a heavier longer bike.

No difference...it's just the rider. Both should go 10.0 or slightly under...bone stock. Mag tests never really had a winner, sometimes the busa won, sometimes the 12R won. Since the busa was claimed the quickest bike first and the 12R couldn't beat it regularly, everyone still considered the busa to be the top bike.

As you say, I had read that they are very close... but I have also read that typically the 12R wins in a roll on and that the Busa almost always wins in the drag from a dead stop (longer base).

From a souped up bike standpoint, you can take a Busa up to 560+ entirely street legal HP, the 12 can't come anywhere near that no matter what oyu do to it.

Thanks
