Over the weekend I grabbed the HF 40x48 trailer. Reading the manual it states that the top speed with the equipped wheels is 60mph. Anyone ever change the wheels to ones that may have a larger overall diameter? Google search/reviews has people upgrading but for what reason? Reduce empty trailer bounce, higher cruising speeds, reduced bearing wear?

larger diameter wheens gets you an increase in tire load rating generally. it wont increase the frame or spring capacity but the tires will fare better also spin slower to generate less wear/heat in the bearings, proper lube will go a very long long way as well

Thanks for the replies. Bearings are packed and hubs are filled with grease! Is there a typical mileage you repack/check the bearings at?
i check/repack mine at the start of every track season which is approx every 3k miles

I refill my bearing buddies before each trip

I check the whole trailer over at the beginning of the track season and anything showing wear gets replaced, i also carry 2 sets of bearings 1 seal adn a bearing cap and cotter pin in the truck just in case, and the spare bearings are prepacked in a sealed container. and i have extra grease in the truck as well.
