Not that I'm an active group rider or that anyone actually likes me...but I need a cheap comfortable street/touring bike.

I was thinking about getting something like a Honda Shadow Spirit 1100 or Magna 750 for the street. You can pick these up pretty dam cheap brand new.

Who said we were talking to ya to begin with?:D

It's funny how I got into sportbikes. All my friends were getting cruisers and I was fittin' to fall in line. Then, I saw the R6 and started looking into them. 3 months before I got the R6, I almost put money down on a V-star. Fate wouldn't have it. The guy that did the paper work was gone for the night and I had to wait. I slept on it and decided against it. Got the R6 later and I wouldn't look back.

It wouldn't bother me none if you got one. I would actually like to see you bring it on group rides. I think if I were to get a bike for the street and retire the R6, I would get a cruiser so the wife would be more comfortable. Go for it!

But woulden't you rather have me hook you up with one of these instead?

John,

Riding buddies are riding buddies, even if they're on slow twins :D

I had a 1990 Magna 750 and my dad has a Shadow Spirit 1100. I've ridden at least 2k on each one. Each one has advantages:

-The magna was my fav as far as performance and looks, but it was chain drive and had shim under bucket valve setup. The shims only have to be tweaked every 15k so that's no big deal. The chain, well you know how that goes.....

-The Shadow was easily smoked by the magna but still decent on power. It has hydraulic lifters and shaft drive. Basically, the bike is maint. free.

I'm definitely partial to the Mag, but either bike is a great buy. I basically fell in love with the Magna due to it's sweet exhaust (2 pipes on each side). Put a set of Cobras on there and it sounds like it has a V8 :D

Thanks guys....:rolleyes
A friend here has one at work..I've ridden it and it's basically a recliner on wheels. Heavy as hell. but comfy. My neighbor also has a mint Magna he's looking to sell cheap.

Hmmm...don't know if I could get into one of those cruisers. For some reason I can't see myself getting all geared up and hopping on that to go for a ride.

Maybe I can find a 929 lying around somewhere cheap.
Those have to be somewhat comfortable for the passenger...right? (please say yes...)

My wife hated me when I crashed the '92 gixxer. she hates sitting up so high on an uncomfortable seat. that thing was comfortable for her. You can get those pretty cheap now.

I won't buy a Suzuki....let alone a 92. :nono

I will buy something new if I get another sportbike.
Sorry bro,

just thought since you were looking for the poser points with the cruiser that you might want to consider one of those totally pimped chrome stretched gixxers that look fast standing still.:D

Well if anyone gives you shit, I'll ban them :D Go over to honda house and take a standard Valkyrie for a ride. You will be amazed. I hade a shadow and when I rode the Valk for the first time it didnt take more than 15 seconds to decide to trade it in. But if you do get a shodaw make sure you at least get a 1100 because the 750 is a major dog.

Can't see a pic Tony...is it invisible?

That KawZZ looks nice...seems everyone has SS Tourer this year.
Man the 9R colors are NAAAaaaSTY! That tan is just plain ugly. I do like the silver/yellow 7R. Any thoughts on the 7R? The F4i is probably quicker than the 7R...really want easy commandable power for the street. 7R might not be enough.

John,

If you're even considering another sportbike, the XX was awesome for passengers if you had the Corbin with the backrest. Babette rode on mine for 3 hours and she like it, especially when i did a wheelie :D

You can get a pristine used XX for mid 6's these days.....
