Kind of torn, but I can see how it makes business sense. An 08 R6 isn't much different than a 2012, no reason to buy new. Especially hard to justify the rising cost of new bikes. I hope they do a good job with it. Probably not hard to make a street worthy triple, but racing isn't the same. Wouldn't want to see them take a step backwards trying to develop a new engine.

There's been some talk that Yammi is planning big motor changes in their Snowmobile lineup as well. Some have have speculated it's for similar reasons to what Pat mentioned.

Interesting to see if they can time this well enough with a recovering market to grab some share.

I've had my eye on buying a D675 for a while now, but if Yamaha comes out with a triple I'll definitely go for it over the Triumph just for the better dealer network and lower cost.

Hope this pans out.
