Yellow Box

I'm thinking about getting a yellow box to correct my speedo. I know TurbospeedIII put gears on the R1 but I'm not sure he changed them any from stock. (pssssss...if your listening Greg maybe you can tell me). So I'm pretty sure it's off.

My question is....if the speedo is off, will the odometer be off too??? and if so...does the yellow box correct that too???

yes the yellow box corrects ANY GEARING ratio you have.
even the stock ratio is off...i bet by 5% easy.
the yellow box is easy to install and easy to calibrate.

let me know when ya get it if you got any questions.

the yellow box corrects your speedo to accurate MPR and MILES being done.

i will install this on EVERY future bike i get from day 1

Thanks Ken,

I thought you just installed one. Was it a big deal to install?? I won't ask if you like it cause it's pretty obvious.:D :D
Okay... you've piqued my interest. Is the Yellow Box a big deal to re-calibrate when you change gearing? (my setup for RA is different from my setup for BHF) I don't care about the odometer but would like to have an accurate display of speed. And about how much do they cost?
They are great, I know mine is way off since I put the front sprocket on. When you talk to them see if they would be interested in doing a group purchase.

Also If you need help when you get it let me know I've got the GPS. thats how we did kens.

Actually,

I think the person to talk to about a group purchase would be Ricerocket. He sells them on his site. I wonder if Dano can get them:confused hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I would love to do it as a group purchase.

Kim: They are around $100
crazy,
if you want to know what your gearing is just count the teeth. it might be stamped on the sprocket too, but you can always count the teeth and compare it to the stock numbers.

stock sizes being: 16/43
ok ill try to put a little over view here.

its easy as shit to install...it will take you longer to read the instructions then to do it.

there is a bunch of toggle switchs to dial in what ever % it is off.

you can use mutlipule gear ratios and dial them in as well ass it takes is flicking a few switchs.

1 thing you are gonna wanna do is water proof the unit...go to a hobby store and pick up them thick ballon (you know the ones with the big rubber band on them you hit back and forth like a paddle ball) and incase it.

thats it!!1 and it sells for 100 bucks...i dont have the site saved anymore...but i am sure you guys can find it. they are from Australia....just order it off the site...(they ship via snail mail) but its not that long of a wait.

i cant say nothing bad about it...and it saves you THOUSANDS of amiles off your bike...you never got to ride

That's not bad... definitely within the "post-season" budget:) along with the lap timer and tire warmers!

thanks Chris I was too lazy to look that up:p
Ody, you'd have a problem getting the Yellow box to work on mine. :D its cable driven off the front tire. Not electronic.

Yes if the speedo is off so will the odometer. Is why Lupi is debating getting the yellow box vs a Bike Speedo. Personally I doubt he'd get anything for the thing so I'm telling him to just do the bike speedo. Cheaper.

Yes Kim I've heard people getting the box and then being able to prep thier bikes for individual tracks and updating the yellow box to accomidate that.
Here's the link to there site for anyone else interested

I shot an e-mail over to the company to see if they would be interested in accomodating a group buy. I'll let you guys know what happens:D

I'd be interested in getting in on a group buy for one of these as well. I know for sure my speedo is off since the mods were done over the winter.

Just a small correction. I don't sell the Yellow Box on the yzf-r1forum, Roman Black, the owner and inventor of the yellow box used to ba a member of our forum and we struck a deal for him to advertise on (or sponsor) our site. Roman seemsto be a pretty fair guy, so he may well be open to a group buy idea. He's in Australia, though, so eamil is probably the only way you'll get a hold of him easily. If you guys want to use my name, or my help in getting them, just say the word. I can't promise anything, but since my foot is in the door, I can ask.
