i think i'm making the jump and going with a galaxy s4 instead of another iphone. I really like my 4S but it's limiting in a few ways.
Not sure I could ever go back to Android after the rock solid of IOS

I have gone over this a million times on my end and with all my crap being Apple (and no real compliant either) I am hard pressed to not have my iPad, iTunes and iPhone all in Sync - 150% impressed with my IP4 that is still rock solid and only issue being the Home Button sticks from time to time - Quick clean and all is good - Could probably get another 6 months out of it if I wanted to

I am not heavy into custom apps and such and my IP4 does all I need - I am not playing games and shit so phone, personal email, texting, Walgreens, Chase & Starbucks Apps along with Weather Apps and Songza all work perfectly - Passbook for Airline Tix from my American Airlines App and Google Maps work flawlessly as well

In my world, nothing is glaring to make me want to jump off an already solid platform for my needs

Lol, I am tempted to uprade but the fingerprint scanner thing has me a little bit skeptical. I'm not sure if I want apple to have that information, they might just leak it to the NSA..
HA - If someone wants to get into your phone, they will - Everyone seems to be a bit squeamish on the FP Scanner and I think it is kind of funny - Shut it off if you are not down like a clown - You do not have to use it - You can also set what Apps you want it to work for and which you still want to enter a PW for as well

I am not cooking Meth or trying to steal the recipe for Coca Cola so I am not all that concerned if my phone is lost other than the inconvenience and if Apple wants my Fp, have it man, CPD already does so it is on file somewhere

I'm sticking with my 5. Even if I got the 5s, I wouldn't be using the fingerprint scanner. No need for that information to be stored on my phone or on Apple's database somewhere. I haven't heard much for changes between the 5 and 5s besides an additional color and the processor, but did hear that the processor doesn't actually make it run any faster - almost a lateral jump.

Your physical fingerprint is not recorded per say, as its a capacitive type sensor that looks at sub-dermal electrical differences rather than an optical fingerprint. This is also the reason it should work WAY better than what you are typically used to when using a fingerprint scanner.

Here's a really good article that explains the encryption of your information. It's hardware based, not software, which is why the new A7 chip is required.

And I don't believe it will update over the air if you are running the Beta version. Mine shows no updates though the settings or through iTunes. From what I've read, you will need to either go back to iOS 6 and update again, or download from the developer website.

Yep Yep - I always wait about a week for the new IOS Updates as they tend to need that time to get sorted a bit

Teresa Brewer, an Apple spokeswoman, didn’t say whether the company could gain access to the fingerprint data. “All fingerprint information is encrypted and stored securely in the Secure Enclave inside the A7 chip on the iPhone 5s; it’s never stored on Apple servers,” Brewer said in an e-mail yesterday.

Not everybody is sanguine about fingerprint capture.

“It reflects unquenchable thirst for swallowing as much consumer data as possible,” Jeffrey Chester, executive director of the Center for Digital Democracy, a Washington-based privacy group, said in an interview.

“This whole notion that people’s body parts can be added to the data profile is troubling, and it needs to be looked at,” Chester said. “Will the data be used to unfairly discriminate when you interact with a health app, for instance?”
Im betting they wont answer the question because they have been to bed with the nsa already multiple times

I have a 4s provided by work, so I'll upgrade when they tell me it's time to. No real complaints other than it seems to get get "stupid" every so often and needs to be shut down and restarted. Just kinda forgets how to do stuff.

Had an iPad for work for a couple years that was "ok" at first and then was almost useless. (updates to make office and adobe less compatible?)
So I switched to a windows 8 tablet this summer. I like it, it works. I can actually run business programs on it. Gave the iPad to my 3 year old who has no problem with it.

There are few things that I miss from android. But there is one thing I absolutely cannot stand about the iPhone. THE SHITTY FUCKING KEYBOARD! It'd be nice if they updated it since a decade ago, other than new stupid skins. Or at least allow other keyboards to replace the system keyboard.

Did the IOS7 Upgrade (quick and easy for me) and it is nice - Very "Kiddie" like with the colors and the way Apps fly in and out - I like the old better as it seems less busy and more "refined" but I am sure this new wave of OS' will grow on me - I know an old fuck like me is not the Smartphone Mfgs Target Audience

I agree, looks more like a toy then a tool. Plus, the apple icons look almost silly compared and mixed in with the 3rd party app icons. I do like the control center that pops up when you swipe up.

They found a bug with this already and a Sec issue too - 4s and 5 at least

Security, well, you can turn on airplane mode with the phone locked which kills "Find My Phone" if you ever lose it

Bug - Swipe Up, Hit the alarm button, hold down power off button, hit cancel when given the option then quickly hit the home button twice - BOOM, into the Multitask feature which allow you access to see what the phone has done ie call, texts, web sites, etc etc

Just got my 5S, 32GB. There were NO white or Gold phones available at the ATT store (they didn't get any, didn't even have a Gold on display) And by the time I left, all they had remaining were 64GB Black.

Fingerprint ID works better than anything I have tried before. Click the home button to light up the screen, leave your thumb on it, and before the screen is faded all the way in......phone is unlocked and going to the home screen.

Using iOS7 on my 4S the last two days, and now on the 5S...... this new phone is screaming fast. No lag. Huge difference, especially after I thought iOS7 slowed down my 4S. Bigger screen for me, better camera, I'll be happy for two years.

I got the white iPhone 64gb 5S. I'm happy.

Picked up the 5s 64gb in Black - No interest in the Gold or Silver - Fast as fuck

Laughed at all the fools in line at the Apple Store - Walked into Best Buy, walked right up to a Cell Dude, had the new activated in (20) mins and even got $145 trade in for my old 32gb 4 - Not 4s but 4 - Would have been $150 had I brought the power cord - That was a nice little perk and made the jump from 32 to 64 a no brainer - iCloud and WiFi Sync and the new phone is exactly like the old in terms of set up and such - BEAUTIFUL

Oh and the FP Scan is bitchin as fuck
