No ones crashed... on any ride I've led...
But if you do it's your own damn fault...

I'm not riding your bike for you, you are not my responsibility...
You ride your own ride, and ride at your own risk...

I've been on a track and my street riding is tame lately...
I still give new peeps the safety speech before every ride...

But the bottom line is - you ride your own ride...
Amen brother... you hit the nail on the head.

Despite the u-turns...your one of my favorite leaders...... and my hero.:D

I guess, is that this isn't something that happens on all of our rides--I've been on a few and I've never experienced it--so why complain?
The reason why I brought it up is because it only happens on the rides with certain individuals and the "only" reason I did the LITH ride is because I though Lupi would lead us properly but he wasn't allowed to lead because some people though since they ride faster they should lead. I’ve been avoiding the “squid runs” on purpose, since I don’t care to ride that way.

I'm NOT unhappyeither, I just see so much room for improvement. Unlike most individuals who just either quit CLSB, or quit coming to rides without saying a word, I decided to voice my opinions. It bothers me when new people ride with us and they go on one ride and then they will base their opinion of us on that one ride….. so let’s have all our rides be good ones, you never know who will come and join us that day.

Lupi... I agree with you 100% and I also think Jim is a great leader.

Oh. From your first post listing all the problems you had with the ride, I just kind of assumed you were at least a bit unhappy with it. My bad. :)

Hey, weren't F4iDog and Wolfgang new to riding with the group and to the LITH route? From their posts (the very first two on this thread) it seems like they rather enjoyed themselves and were very enthusiastic about joining the group on further rides. Don't mean to argue or anything, but I'm wondering if I missed something, again.

Once again, YOU DA MAN, JIM! YOU DA MAN, YOU DA MAN, YOU DA MAN! Time for a celebratory wheelie. :D

Anna, When is the last time your bike saw 12,000 RPM when it was in gear.
At the track, and you are still not getting it. I never said I was riding side by side with Jim or Dano, I said I was on “their” rides, and somehow they never lost me even though I was way behind, I never saw them attempt to pass cars on a double yellow and had the cars coming in the opposite direction pull over because they were freaked out seeing bikes coming straight for them.

What you do in the CORNER is your business, I am taking about "group ride etiquette" nothing about RPM's or speeding or cornering... just how people should conduct themselves while on the road with other bikes and how to keep everyone together...............

That is all I am saying.......... I never said anything about anything else............ I could care less if my leader is going 60mph or 160mph as long as I can find him before the next turn.

I'm sure they were enjoying themselves, I'm not saying they weren't and if someone wasn't you think they would post something?

Hell NO, you just would not see them again on the board... I've been on here for over a year and I've seen people come and go, at first people ask about them and then they totally forget about them.

New members take their place and there is always people to ride with. Those were probably people that could have posted but didn't because people don't want to cause trouble.

Some people just have the attitude, “well, if you don’t like it, don’t ride with us” and with that attitude they are willing to loose many cool members. But who cares, they didn’t ride “aggressive/fast” enough so who needs them. Right?

As cherrypicker said... what the hell am I doing with a sportbike? If I'm not pushing myself 24/7 , taking chances with my life every second, riding as fast as I possibly can at all times, breaking the law any way I can and hope I don’t get pulled over or arrested…. Is that what a sportbiker is…. I guess I misunderstood the whole concept then.

I dunno Anna. I'd tend to think it's not really hard to just post something saying "Hey, you guys go a bit faster than I'd like to." or, uh, "Hey, I think I'm gonna skip the next ride, 'cause taking corners fast and riding aggressively isn't something I enjoy."

If you think we're losing members 'cause they're turned off by rides like the LITH route, post up more opportunities for people to ride more tamely. In fact, the trip this weekend is a good example, isn't it? I think our members have a choice between riding aggressive rides and riding with the group at a more relaxed pace. That's just me though, I guess.

The first ride I went on was led by Jim and we all did "the route" through LITH, Huntley, wherever the hell that is. It didn't seem like anyone had the "if you don't like it, get lost" attitude. I've ridden with several different groups of people from here, I think, and I've never encountered that. Maybe I'm not being critical enough, but maybe you're being overly critical. It probably doesn't help when people are throwing attitude at you though, which I understand.

Uh, I don't know what I'm talking about anymore and I've got a killer headache, so that's my input for now.

Sorry, I ment full throttle at 12,000 RPM.

I wasn't actually leading. People seemed to keep following me though... go figure.
GEE, if you are the first one, then you are a leader, it may be unofficial but we were still following you right?

Anyway, I've been at 12,000 Rpm’s in every gear while riding and what is your point? I don't ride crazy in the burbs... around residential neighborhood, where there are other cars on the roads. I go away from civilization to speed and have fun, because they are no cars, no cops there....and I can fully enjoy myself..... most people have never seen me "ride" because they would have to leave the state and go into the boonies for that.

I’m not competing with you or anyone so what you or anyone thinks of my riding really doesn’t count in my book. Show me another chick that has riden for 3 years and rides like me and is doing track days and we’ll talk. And she better have started riding at 30 too, cause if I was 23 I’m sure I would be riding way more aggressive.

I only slowed down to 70mph on the straights, because I didn;t feel like slowing down to 30 or 40 mph like most leaders do .

Well, my ride may be a sport touring ride but once I hit Iowa, hold on to your bike 'cause I'm taking off...... passing on double yellow..... no problem, because there will be only like one car out there and no cops, plus it's hilly so you can see for miles and see if there is cars coming.... It's NOT a relaxed ride...500 miles, speeds of 20-60mph over speed limit.....no gravel either so you can take those high-speed sweepers over a 100mph.

The reason why the LITH rides are always so nice is because of Jim, Jeff and the rest of the LITH folks….. WHO WERE NOT PRESENT THIS SUNDAY. I love riding with them, I guess you just had to be there Max cause I can’t convince you that it was nuts.

But you just nailed it on the head...I know for myself and pretty much everyone that rides on the group rides posted on the board we really could care less about your riding ablity. If you like to ride, you want to ride, you are good with us. It has been said over and over again, ride your own ride, and the faster riders will be there for you at the next stop/turn. It has worked great so far, it will continue to work great in the future. I think that most of us are here to have fun and play with our bikes, that is what this should be...not the endless "you did this wrong or you did that wrong" BS.

This board is a big benefit to everyone, you can hook up with all sorts of riders, and learn off of them. If you are kind of ahead of them in the riding dept, at least you have some riding buddies to go with and can check out thier cool bikes, right? RIGHT!

Myself, I know I learned a lot off of some of the guys that are faster than me just by riding with them and watching what they were doing. This resource is the ultimate riding school, lets keep it that way and not get into this BS "I have been on so many rides and I am the big expert and you are *#$&%@ for not seeing it my way", this is just plain stupid.

The important thing to remember is that we are all here to play with our motorcycles, talk bikes, make a few new friends and have fun. I can only hope that everyone on here has the same goals in mind. There is too much petty bickering and childish nastyness in the everyday world already, lets not bring that into what we do for a hobby! K?

My worthless opinion

Lupi it wasnt me!!!!!

Andy....................Im not on that list of yours am I?

Cherry.... I heard ya commin in that corner when ya passed me on the inside, I do the best I can with those Bias ply tires you hate so much.:twofinger I know the frikkin things old you dont need to keep reminding me, and personally I think I do pretty damn good with my antiques. Ill have an up to date scoot soon but until that day comes, I ride what I can. So there :laughing

I felt like most of the day I was in the infamous possible crash position , which was #4 in this particular ride.

Personally I like watching the fast guys, it doesnt offend me, I learn from them, when they go to fast I let them go, when I feel like I can stay close I do, I ride my own ride always! Keep it up guys!

Ron your lil 1" wheelie machine sounds alot better with the pipe on it, Now I can't hear your trans, I like it!

As always Kim, I have a blast watchin you on the V

Hell no! That list is for people that I am really afraid for.

By the way, talked to the guy I work with about the 900...his was an 84, and his wife would kill him if he got a bike...also the two kids thing kind of put a damper on him getting a bike again. Maybe when his wife goes off to see the P's again for a week in a month or so you could let him borrow it for old times sake one day or night and we all could do a ride? (both him and I have real open schedules, work doesnt get in the way shall we say...:laughing )

No, but he'll love the joy ride! He liked the ZX7 last time the wife left:D Dont worry about him crashing, he is pretty good...but do make fun of his jacket...start singing that Billy Idol tune "Dancing with myself" if you see him wearing it, always good for a laugh!:laughing

I never said that... all I am pointing out is why are all the other rides structured, with emphasis on the group ride etiquette, except on the rides that you and cherrypicker do? Why can't you guys conform to the guidelines a bit, we had a bunch of CLSB rules for group rides... who made you guys exempt?

I'm not saying I'm right - you are wrong, I just wish you guys would pay a little more attention to details out there. The rules are up and "sticky" for a reason, hell I don't want to be the CLSB police but why the hell do we have rules if some people don't need to use them.

For the record:

I had a great time on Sunday and can't wait to ride with ALL of you again!:biker
