I waited at the stop signs for the group to catch up. What am I missing???
No offense Mike, but ya flubbed that one up pretty good. There should be no reason that I had to stay back and make sure 3 people caught a turn on to a new street, to go 2 miles at a stop and not find the group there.(Only Kevin996 waited) We caught shit traffic trying to cross there, it wasn't that anyone was slow.

Personally, I think that Jim and Ken sometimes stop and wait too much. It disrupts a smooth flow of the pace through the turns.
As a experienced rider, you should be able to pause for a minute, and be able to jump back in the saddle without loosing a rythm. I think on the biggest difference between first and last person, it's never been more than two minutes.

OK, so one thing that bugs me. Andy wanted to come to LITH. He posted for the ride! No one else knew the route. Fine. Now I spoke with the two of you speciffically before leaving the HIghland House about how this ride should go. You blew me off, and Andy kept pace with you.

You did make a bs comment about riding 10mph under the speed limit from HH to LITH. Well, I've been down that route numerous times, and if I missed zone it was only for a mile or two. I'm sorry, but I am not going to go 65mph down a 30-55mph zone roads with that kind of Sunday traffic. It won't work, and I'm not about to leapfrog cars with that big of a group. I kept the group together from point A to B, no? Yeah you ride tripple digits everywhere since it takes you an hour to get somewhere, sorry we weren't on the interstate.

Now as far as from LITH on. Had you given me --> <-- respect as a rider, none of this crap would have come to be an issue. Straights would have been well over the posted mph, but under tripple digits. The couple of good twistiy roads would have gotten whoever want to go balls to the wall, a wave a head, since they all end at a stop sign. We would have waited AS LONG AS IT TAKES for the group to catch up.

I think if you would have even waited one mile in, you would have been fine with it. Instead, you blew me off at the first opportunity. SO I said, hell, fine, you're on your own. Yet didn't I stop and wait for you each time you blew a turn?

Not everyone wants to go WOT 100% of the time. Sure I get rather spirited at times, but I've learned to pick when to be a nut, and when not to. I've weighed the risk values and have made my determinations on how I ride.

I've had enough of this topic/thread. Anything else I have to say will be done via PM. If anyone feels they need to respond to me, do it in PM. I still stand by the fact that I had a good time. But this BS is getting rather old rather quickly.

THE END
Rob

Have to admit this made for some interesting reading. Same ole same ole.:D

OK.. yall got that out of your systems I hope..

Guess I road a lil more aggresive than I normally do on the rides.. ok ok so I have only been on three.. But damnit it was a good ride no matter what happened .. as far as I was concerned.. but the bickering blows.. Think I will stay away from it..

Yall have a great one..

Tom.. give me a call sometime we can take a ride..

All of my irrelevant posts have been deleted.

Let me jsut say that I didn;t appreciate all the criticism I got. It;s funny how the guys following me really enjoyed the ride and a those i nthe back not following me got all fussy.

Sorry about al lthe U-turns. The last 2 were an complete accident because I was going the right way to begin with, but second guessed myself.

The first two missed turns was just me getting a couple parts of the route mixed up. I don't memorize turns in a sequence. I just hav a visual picture in my head of where to turn and some of those farms all look the same. Plus I've done that route at least 3 different ways in the last year.

It might seem like I was riding 100% WOT the whole way, but I wasn't. I kept it around 70-80% and only acelerated up to 90 or 100 exiting the corners then slowed to around 70. Nothing too crazy... just having fun. I'm completely nuts and i do value my life. But if me 6 months ago, was trying to follow me now, I'd be thinging ... holy shit that guy is flying. Perseption is everything. Trust me I know, I work for a FDA regulated industry.

Big time edit...this thread started to not make any sense so I pulled down a couple of posts I made...Mike, see the work you make me do when you pull your posts?
:laughing

All I have to say is...lets stop the analysing of what others are doing and complaining about stuff that you dont have a clear understanding why that stuff is happening. It might be a good idea to tone down the name calling both in person and on the board as well, that is just plain stupid. Lets just have fun and ride!

Even if I could turn good I'd be lost in the straights. Everybody there has 30hp over me and little Suzuki.

Keep practicing. I used to keep up on my 55hp Bandit 400. Gotta learn to whip the shit out of your bike.

hey

Let me just say this, I don't ride over my head and if I do, it's my own fault IF I crash. I know that and would never blame anyone else for that.

Therefore rides that are much more dangerous than I would normally ride on, I just don't ride on. Simple as that. I don't complain or pm you or anything. I just don't go. Simple as that.

I don't care if you ride slower or faster than me. You aren't gonna be that much faster than me anyway, believe me, unless you enjoying being a hood ornament, your not that much faster. I just tend to be more cautious, is all. Your only a minute or two ahead of me anyway and if your lazy a$$ can't wait for me at a stop sign, fine, don't wait. Those are rides I wouldn't be on anyway.

I don't care if you can do a wheelie at 60 or 15. I don't care if you can stoppie yourself into the back of a truck. I don't care if you want a speeding ticket, therefore you take off at 90 at each light and proceed to do 20-30 over the limit. I don't, so I won't.

I don't care if you ride over your head, but if you do all that and crash while I'm leading or during a ride I set up (I give the rules too before a ride) and I have to come back for you, or you pass me and crash, you had better be hurt cause I'm gonna be really pi$$ed. I'm not your damn den mother. I ride on rides I like, the end. I don't complain about you on the board or name names. I don't tell newbies not to ride with such and such, cause they'll figure it out for themselves who they like and who they don't.

The only thing I expect on a ride is common courtesy. Waiting in case I'm a tad slower (which is actually rare). Or pointing out things during a ride, hand signals for a turns coming up and no damn tricks on a ride==> Cause if you crash in front of me and mess me or my bike up, you had better be in pain cause your a$$ will be.

I have crashed. It's not a friggin pleasant experience I assure you. It's painful and scary and nerve-racking. I love riding and will continue to do so with or without CLSB, with or without particular members.

A crash makes you re-think things. Especially if the crash involved a two ton vehicle which didn't see you tattering along.

I've said my peace. With no names and no blame. Simple as that. If you ride like you don't care about anyone, I don't care to ride with you. The End.

thanks for the words of encouragement. It may seem as though I'm ripping on my bike, but I really do love the thing (only I can poke fun at it! :) ) It's got lots of character and it's different than everybody elses. Before 7K RPMs she'll beat the 600s (after that..um, I-4s start to stretch their legs). I KNOW it's capable of doing amazing things. I've heard of 1:20 or so laps at BHF on an SV. I'll be talking to the SV guys at the next track day, that's for sure!

I just THOUGHT I could ride before, damn I was wrong. Strolling along to and from work on the Maxim is entirely different than actually 'cornering'. I'd ride around town on the weekends, that's it.

I'm avoiding this other discussion entirely..

Laterz!

That is really deep.......... that is EXACTLY how I feel also. It’s really NOT a group ride if it’s every man for himself.

As a newbie! LONG BUT PLEASE READ

Ok First- I am sorry that I started all this fighting, bickering, or what ever you want to call it. I just wanted to say that as being my first, ever, group ride I thought it was pretty damn good. EVERYONE treated me fair as a new rider, and a new CLSB member.

Second- Cherry I am sorry about the U-turn coment. I know they were total accidents, I ment nothing by them.

Third- Lupi as, at least in my mind, our un-official leader Sunday I thought you did an amazing job making sure no one got lost.

Forth- As my first group ride I should not have riden so far up in the pack, because I knew nothing of the whole pointing out hazards and I am sorry. I also apologize to whom ever was behind me, especialy Anna who was behind me most of the way to LITH.

Fifth- As I had told Lupi, Sunday I learned more about my riding skills than I ever had before mostly because of the people I was with. ALL OF YOU GUYS and LADIES were awesome to ride with and I thank you for all of the help, both verbally and visually. I was able to push myself a little farther but not beyond my limits. And I look forward to riding with who ever, the next time I can get my over worked ass to a group ride.

Sixth- I would also like to apologize to Kevin 996 for leaving him at that stop sign. Thought you were coming with me, sorry.

One last thing- I ask this sincerly. Please if you have a problem with me or the way I ride or what I don't do while I'm riding please come up front about it. I am an up front type of guy and that is the way I would like to be treated.
Thanks again

Mark:p

P.S. This post was not meant to kiss anybody's ass just the truth on how I felt.

Yes, i agree. Lupi you did a great job making sure we didn't get lost. Without you the movie deliverence would of come to mind out there in the middle of no where. You should have the word "shepard" in your avitar.;)
Mark, i agree about learning what your made of. I have never taken any turns that fast before. It does teach you that it can be done. You have to learn somehow right.
And about kissing ass. In the work place it doesn't matter how hard you work, just how good you can kiss ass!:laughing

Ok the bickering needs to stop. Its over.
