Just waiting on some misc. clips, bolts and two fairing brackets. CC wanted $6 for one fairing clip. I found it online for something like 30 cents each. :laughing

I don't believe this! Second time I take the bike out with the new tires, put about 200 miles on it today and just noticed that I have a FRICKEN SCREW[/COLOR] in my rear tire!

I was afraid to pull it out to see if it's the whole screw, or maybe just a head of it stuck on my tire. The tire pressure is fine (so far). Any ideas? Am I screwed here (pun intended) - do I need to buy a new tire (again!!!), or can I just get some kind of a plug??

DAMN IT!!!! Help!

^^^^^^^^ what he said

Sorry, couldn't help it.

To be 100% safe, get a new tire. I can not be held accountable for badly plugged tires.

With that said, I do have plug/patches that have worked well for me in the past when I was in a pinch. You are welcomed to try and plug it yourself. I will demount and mount your tire but you will be doing the actual tire repair yourself.

Why does the tire need to be demounted to fix it? When I got a sharp rock in Galena in my 250's tire, Bill (wingnutsgsxr) just plugged it and refilled it and I was good to go. Haven't had a problem with it since...

There are several ways to fix a tire. From the outside is the quick and dirty way of doing it. I personally do not trust those quick and dirty plugs. ChiedBD had one pop out while he was riding. Actual mileage may vary.

The ones I have are plug patches. It is a plug and a patch in one and need to be repaired with the tire demounted. I made a thread about it's benefits in the tech forum.

Which ever method you decide, monitor your air pressure religiously. Some people here won't plug tires at all. I tend to agree with them which is why I said to be 100% safe get a new tire. Hope that helps.

those plug patches that mao has work absolutely great on car tires. i've never ever had them leak on me unless they were not installed properly. now motorycycle tires... i'm not really sure if it's ok or not since motorcycle tires are very round in the inside compared to car tires and are typically subject to MUCH higher speeds. plus there's the fact that you only have 2 wheels to count on for a bike as opposed to 4 on a car. does anyone know for sure if plug/patches are safe for bike tires?

There is no definite answer on the safety of patched/plugged tires. I have used them in the past when I was in a pinch but won't go out on a limb and recommend them to people.

Once again to be 100% sure, buy a new tire. It's cheap insurance for safety of mind.

this thread is funny whacked!

I am well aware of your efforts and applaud what you have accomplished. I don't think anyone here is disputing that. I try to do my little part when I can. Many here have been welcomed into my home and garage.

I just don't find it humorous to laugh at other's bad luck. Well unless it's SilentAlero.:lmao:
