DAVE OK THEN ITS SAFE TO SAY A SOLID 158hpr

we gotta do some more roll on's. it was fun playing with you alittle...i still cant believe my 9r with 16400 miles now can keep side by side or a touch on a rear tail of a busa:jester
Yeah, your bike's running pretty good! The Busa's coming up on 12000 miles now too.

That one time I pulled out ahead, I don't think you were going to catch me.:D

had a blast. Was hot but not that bad. I actually did a good Wheelie.:thumbsup Paninced a little but didn't chop the throttle as usual. Came down semi nice. That and a little burn out in Lupis face when he bumped my rear at a stop.:twofinger

dave nahh i would;nt have cought you but i wouldda held 6 bikes behind you...i didnt know if you were going to go for it or not and when you did...i nailed 1st wheelied, wheelies HIGHER then bounced the revlimiter...thought i hit 2nd gear but NO hit the limiter again:laughing i musta looked like a fucken newbie:jester

had a blast, for about 3 minutes. figures just out of warranty and it(oil cooler) decides to blow up.
Thanks allen for pointing that out. (although that would have helped me get a new bike, just not a new body:evil)
thanks jeff for the help and hospitality.

bike is home and hope to get it fixed by the weekend.

I hate my suburban cruiser roots!

Damn,

I had fun out there, even if I was riding for total shit :mad .
BusaDave can attest to that. I didn't mind the fact I was braking WAY too much as much as the ultimate no-no..hackin' the throttle again. :nono I can't remember which corners are super tight and which ones are mild sweepers. I'd come 1/2 through the corner and think 'whoa, I broke too hard'. Check my rear view and BusaDave is riding my ass when he was 100 yards away BEFORE the corner. :confused

The waitstaff at the restaurant was super good this time. No Coke in my iced tea glass this time :D

Then Max came over to get VCook's book and we went out riding again. I then showed Max how NOT to ride. :mad After Max went home I hit that road again.

I'm hitting my northern little route every day I can this week.

Good ride!! I felt like Joey Dunlop at the isle of man with all the air I was getting!! Big thanks to the leaders!

hooligan, your shield fogs up when I air out my crotch and ass because when you get a look at my sexy ass you can't help but increase your breathing. Try to relax and not get so excited. hahaha!! It was hot, my boys will never forgive me.

Most of the time I really wasn't that close! I was trying like hell to drop back but it seemed like you slowed down thinking you were leaving me behind. That one road where I blasted past and got air over the hill was a demonstration that I could have caught you at any time.

Here's what I would suggest:

Pick one of those roads and go back and forth over it. Start slow and lower your entry speed into turns BEFORE you get to the turn. If possible, do this by not braking so you get a feel for deceleration. Make several passes until you are comfortable at a certain speed, then raise your speed slightly and do it again.

Concentrate on smooth, not speed. Concentrate on trying to set a speed that doesn't require brakes at first. Once you are comfortable with your corner speed you can begin using brakes to set your corner speed BEFORE you get to the corner and you can make faster passes.

You are looking around a lot, which is good, but it seemed that you were looking into the mirrors more than forward which is not so good. Also, it seemed that you had to move your head too much to check your mirrors. You might want to try adjusting your mirrors. You should be able to see the mirrors by only moving your eyes, not your head.

We all started somewhere. It's extremely important to learn at your own pace. I don't think you were over your head at any point, but you THOUGHT you were (based upon my observations), and that's worse because it can lead to panic reactions.

Well the way I left you 3 at the light on 31 you better get some practice before we have a chalenge!!!!:twofinger
Yeah, but then the mighty Honda will make the 9R look like it was tied to a tree:evil That 31 launch totally blew....at idle release clutch, pin throttle till 5K, 1/2 throttle through the rest of 1st, 3/4 throttle through second, and that poor 9R still couldnt pull ahead after the jump you got off the line:laughing :laughing :laughing

If i remember correctly i was able to look in my mirror see i had a comfortable lead, hit my turn signal and pull in your lane. how much further ahead do i need to be????:rofl :twofinger

Dave..

I'll try your stuff out tonight. My mirrors are set so that I don't have to move my head..when I'm set 'properly' with the elbows bent not straight. I've got a couple roads up here to try that stuff on.

I'm sure most of my problems will become blatantly obvious on the track.

Not giving my bike any gas has that effect, kind of like some Dodge Neon saying it blew away a Viper when it was parked on the side of the road:laughing :laughing :twofinger

So now your saying a mini bike is faster then your 954!!!:jester
I guess you would be right comparing your 9R's blistering speed that "beat" the 954 to a Minibike...although somehow I believe that a common garden slug would be faster than this theoretical minibike:evil :jester
