Gotta go do the trailer stuff today. Check bearings and pack if needed, and get another spare bearing for the trip.
Ive only repacked my bearings-never really looked at them. How did you determine which bearings you have? Are bearings universal by size or?

Most smaller trailer are going to have very few sizes for them. It depends on your axle size. I determined the size by removing them, cleaning them up, taking the part numbers off of the bearings, and then taking them to the parts store (farm and fleet in my case) and just holding them up to each other / checked part numbers for comparison. When I got them home, I test fit them to be sure, and they were good.

Now if it was only that easy to get a spare tire properly sized for my trailer i would be all set.

I'm down in Mississippi right now. The weather is nice, It was 72 yesterday and sunny. I'm hoping to get home tomorrow or the day after. I want to get the Aprilia back on the dyno for a couple more runs to make sure all is good. Then start loading all the shit in the van. I'm leaving Friday after work of next week. First stop is Louisville Friday night, then head down to Barber Saturday morning. Ride Barber Sunday and try to make it as far as I can towards Jennings Sunday afternoon / evening. I will more than likely be a little late Monday morning for Jennings. I will see you guys there!

Bah, looks like I have to have the tires on my trailer replace. They don't make my model of tire anymore and the replacement tire (same size of 205/75D14) is about 1.5 inches bigger. So my options are risk no spare, or have my still good tires on the trailer replaced with the same tire I have on the spare rim, or hope I can find some tires online, have them shipped and get them mounted up before I go...I think I'll just go get the new tires and be done with it. Still pisses me off that I can't get tires replaced with the same model and they are only 5 years old.

while not a good idea for long term you can run a mismatch size on trailer tires as a spare, the wheels rotate completely independently from eachother so their mismatched rpms wont affect the other, and with a 1.5" dia change its only .75 lower axel height

and going from a 205 to a 215 tire is at worst a .6" diameter mismatch, or .3 inches in height at the axel

BTW - I have those marathons on mine, went to jennings and back, Barber and back when it was like 120 degrees out, blackhawk a few times last year, not to mention the three previous years of use. The only tires I had blowing up were the ones on the truck!

Wow what a mess it ended up being. After going back to have new tires mounted, even though the tires I had were just fine, the 2 new tires I had mounted one was bigger than the other. They were the same make, model, size and off the same manufacturing run. After showing this to the techs at the store I ended up asking if they had any other rim and tire combos for a spare tire set. They did so they brought one out, it was smaller, the same as my original tires. So I had them unmount the new tires, remount my original tires and then exchanged the spare rim/tire for the smaller one. Problem solved. Lots of annoying but at Lear I have a properly sized spare now.

I think I might just sleep for the next 6 1/2 days till I leave. I think that is th best way to pass time...tick...tock...

I actually think all I have left to do is put the other 1/2 of the track plastics on, pack my clothes and load the trailer and I am good to go. I better check that list again, I always feel I am forgetting something.

EDIT: yup I forgot...mount a rear tire. I think I might try to do it myself tomorrow and if I cant, I'll take is somewhere to get it done. Swapping the valve stem too, to one of the 90* stems.

I rode all day today (Sunday 6th) at Jennings. First session there was a dry line then it rained .... After lunch it was sunny and dry.... On a Moc Race today I like a dummy pulled up next to Martín Cárdenas. If I had any idea I would have stepped back a row. I did not know the grid was full of AMA pros
