try using a external hard drive to save your work or what ever

the d partition depending on the computer might be the recovery part of it.

If you have a lot of space on the D partition, move shit over there.

You can't resize your partitions w/o wiping the drive and starting over or using a 3rd party software. Generally it causes issues if you are trying to mess with the partition the OpSys is on.

Partition Magic and Partition Commander let you... along with several others...

If D is a recovery partition, there's probably not anything extra it can give up anyway.

 

with windows vista microsoft included the ability to dynamically resize partitions, you guys need to get up to date on this stuff. Win7 can do it too.

I just tried it and it only allows me to shrink the D drive, but it moves the space to a new unallocated location, not to C.

 

after shrinking D can you expand C?

Thanks for the help guys. I ended up using Easeus Partition Manager and now have full use of my hd. Woot! :bow

 

You should have left the D: drive and just moved all your porn and mp3s over to it.
Leave your OS and installed apps on C: Then put all your personal files on D:
Now when you back up stuff - backup D:
